I used to have pretty hands but now I have lumps on my finger joints which do not hurt but are ugly. Could they be to do with having PD?

I don't think so! I've had arthritis for over twenty years in my upper neck. The finger joint pain and swelling is recent (last year or so). I've had PD for eight years. Only during this last winter, I'd wake up with hip and lower back stiffness. It could be a little of both PD & Arthritis??

I too share your problem....Mine is do to arthritis. (I never thought about PD being the problem, but I am finding out that PD can cause quite an array of different things.

I know how you feel about the way it looks....Mine look terrible....but "That's life!...we just got to deal with it and move on!

A reumatologist may be able to help, if it is painful.

I have lumps in the palm of my hands since having PD. I am assuming it is related to PD ,but they are painful and I have noticed it is painful when I go to wipe the counters off with a rag. I notice it in my wrist, hand and finger joints. I have Advanced YOPD. I fthink I am too young for arthritis. Do you have that problem ?

It sounds like arthritis..see a rheumatologist. I was told i might have dupetryns..i had nodule on palm of hand, have fingers that lock..i find it v depressing as i cannot knit only v slowly with difficulty, same with crochet..sewing, i use one hand to type...just difficult to control the fingers on my right hand..knife at table..

Any ideas of how to get the use back again. Exercising them has made little difference..

possibly but unlikely. My wife has lumpy fingers. Not sore. Doctor says she is a "bone grower".

Are your hands fingers stiff / tight , do they twist in maybe the thum or small finger stick up . Are your wrists also affected .Maybe you head droops forward and pulls to one. Side .

Although I believe in PSP the head usually drops back .

Could it be Dystonia .
