You are asking whether anyone clearly identifiable and known to both this website and their own ISP has broken a criminal law (in most places where they may live)?

I thought maybe somebody heard something or know from a friend ?

why not? They’re legal in Colorado. There are many supported clinical trials on psilocybin for PTSD with good outcomes. It is really a shame upon itself if a simple bias gets in the way. Reminds me of Plato’s allegory of a cave that points out “Plato's allegory of the cave is a philosophical metaphor that illustrates the effects of education and the lack of it on human nature, depicting prisoners who perceive shadows on a wall as reality until one escapes and discovers the true world outside. It emphasizes the importance of seeking knowledge and understanding the difference between the material world and the higher reality of the Forms, particularly the concept of "the Good." Or perhaps I may I’ve spent too much time in Colorado! Ha!

Maybe the OP was hoping to hear from PWP who live in countries where psilocybin is decriminalised.

I have a friend of a friend who uses mushrooms to deal with anxiety with great results. In the UK some people have them growing wild nearby and there is a legal loophole I believe where you can pick and eat them; you just can't dry them or deliberately grow them. But there are certain land types over here where they thrive naturally.

Good way to say it, yes.

I cannot speak to Ibogaine, since I have no experience with it. My experience of psilocybin, as a PwP, is that it has been helpful to my PD symptoms. This is anecdotal, of course, but my sense is that my fine motor control (ie: piano playing) improved in my PD-affected side, after taking quite a low dose (about 0.5g of dried mushrooms). There was a psychedelic affect for a few hours, but at that dose, it was mild. The improvements seem (so far) permanent, though it is fair to say I have repeated every few months, in search of a further gain, which hasn't arrived. So I cannot currently distinguish between "permanent" and "needs a repeat treatment every few months". I have tried much larger doses, which are considerably more psychedelic, but have not noticed any further improvement.

My explanation-to-self is this (though it's really just a guess): Psilocybin is known to encourage neuroplasticity. I postulate that perhaps my brain has developed some new connections during this neuroplastic period, and those are permanent. This may not be true, or it may be true -- as a non-blinded N of 1 study, let's just call this "anecdotal", and you must decide for yourselves how useful or useless this info is to you.

I'm glad I tried it, and I hope others who choose the same thing report their outcomes to their neurologists, as I have reported my own. My neurologist felt the information was interesting, though not yet actionable.

As a side note, I did not experience many of the psychedelic effects when I took a larger (5g) dose. This surprised those who were babysitting me, who experienced animated alien characters in the room, and so on. My mind did slip in and out of consciousness during that experience, but there was not any of the vivi visual-field modification, or aliens, etc. I did a bit of reading, and it seems that something about the PD brain state, or perhaps something about the medications (esp. MAO-B inhibitors) may inhibit the psychedelic effect.

And as I say, the best improvement came from my first experience, with a sub-psychodelic 0.5g mini-dose of dried mushrooms.

I cannot encourage or discourage anyone with respect to psilocybin, I can only report on my own experiences. Please use this information as you see fit. I cannot make any claims about long term benefits or harms that might come of it.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds like it was worthwhile and positive. I have been wanting to try mushrooms and have had planned ‘dates’ with people (namely my wife) to be by my side to ‘walk me through my journey’. However life got in the way for several reasons. Perhaps I’ll wait until it get the weather here in CO becomes more consistent.
