Does anyone know if Hormone Replacement Therapy affects the amount of vitamin B1 needed? I am still trying to get my sweet spot for B1 and wondered if the HRT patch is affecting this?

HRT and B1, does anyone know if they affect each other?
HRT seemed to completely screw up my response to HDT. I had been on the same B1 dose for over 4 1/2 years with no issues. Within six weeks of beginning HRT (patch with estrogen and progesterone), I started having major issues... at first it seemed to be not enough B1 and then it turned into a constant overdose no matter how little I took. I had a few positive improvements in menopausal symptoms from the patch but mostly negative results, so I quit after a year. I still haven't been able to get the B1 balanced out. It's a constant struggle trying to find a correct dose now.
I tried some natural progesterone cream for a couple of months after the patch, but I didn't do well with that either. Now I'm just focusing on my PD-oriented supplements while coping with the remaining menopausal issues. The biggest problem that I had was hot flashes and horrible night sweats, but those have calmed down quite a bit over the last year and a half (I'm 58 now).
I've been having a lot of gut issues that I've never had in the past, and that also seemed to coincide with starting the patch. I'm at a loss to understand it all.
Estrogen has a pretty central effect on glucose metabolism, just like B1 does, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did effect each other. In theory you'd think they might be synergistic together, but of course "in theory" does not equal "in practice"
I had not thought about HRT affecting PD meds. I do not use B1. A ND prescribed progesterone and bio-identical estradiol and testosterone creams to address bone density. I’m 69.
I will be seeing a movement specialist in November and will ask him to address this issue
