So i am trying carnivore diet i am only a week in and finding that after each meal it is taking art least 1hr to sometimes litrerally my next dose for tablets to work. Since starting carnivore i can already notice less foot cramps and anxiety in my off periods i am actually very relaxed just unable to move as my medds take so long to start working but also notice an improvement in the desire to do something when I'm on, definetly got more energy. so i was just wondering if anyone is on carnivore and has any tips on getting meds working quicker after meals?

I don't want to give carnivore up yet as i think it will help long term yet i cant really go on not moving what so ever waiting for meds to work although my off feelings are defiantly more relaxed and calm /comfortable

Constipation on a carnivore diet indicates that you weren't eating enough fat, maybe too much lean meat. You could remedy this by eating more fatty cuts, adding oily fish or adding butter. Are you drinki g coffee because this cad drehydrate you and cause constipation

I’ve been carnivore for five years. Diagnosed with PD in 2011, I personally think carnivore works well. I take my meds before I eat. Constipation used to be a problem before going meat based but is not anymore.

c/l and proteins use the same absorption path. Therefore protein intake inhibits absorption of c/l. Look up how you are supposed to take c/l

It could be that your body is getting more of its nutrients from the diet and that your microbiome is changing so that you are not so dependant on the medication, remember that is take some months to change the microbiome and it doesn't happen overnight.

Well you know people have said quite often here that protein eaten interferes with medication absorption if you need it near the time you take your med, and of course if you're eating mostly all animals then you're eating protein and fat to the max. So you have to expect look for some time after eating your meds won't absorb much because the protein competes with the medication. Now most of the time people say about an hour or longer but if you're eating a huge amount of protein, say well over 30 grams, which is highly likely, per meal, you might have to wait two or three hours, perhaps more, for a big protein meal, before expecting something to absorb or co-absorb in the presence of that protein... And by then your medication may have just simply passed out of your intestines completely un-absorbed. You're basically trying to get somewhere in the bridge is just out, or trying to see something and find out you can't because you're blind. Or as talking once put it, "The way is shut!"

A "typical" daily calorie intake, I'll let others correct me on the correct range, is somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 grams per day. Well that's divided between two sources of calories protein and fat. I think also, again more informed people will correct me to adjust, somewhere between 30 and 40 or 50 g is the maximum amount of grams a person can absorb at a given dose. You do the math.

So you may have to time your c/l pills or whatever dopamine based medication you're using accordingly.

You also want to watch out you don't give yourself a serious case of gout.

My experience: I have been on a carnivore diet for 2 months. I was on a KETO diet for 6 months before that.I have to take my medication and make sure it kicks in before I eat. Eggs seem to be less problematic than actual meat.

Overall it has positive effect. I've lost 15 lbs, joints feel better, and my sense if smell has come back. My arm swing has improved. So far it hasn't done anything for my stride or for the tremors.

If you can try eating only 2 meals a day, because intermittent fasting is also supposed to be helpful.
