I just wanted to give a quick update on my diet. I’ve been on the carnivore diet for only the last two months. I took last weekend off to be able to tell the difference. Big mistake. I will be eating this way for the rest of my life. I was able to talk to a guy who’s been on the carnivore diet for the last 2 1/2 years. Addition to nicotine and methyl blue, he went from his words, stage three Parkinson’s. he is currently not on medication and his symptoms are 90% better. I don’t know this guy personally, but I seem to feel better every day. I’m not an expert, but I realize Beef makes me feel the best. Also make sure you get enough fat, you need it for energy with no carbs.
commit to try it for at least two months. It took a while to notice the difference. Taking a break was the best thing because I now know the difference.
I have constant energy, motivation, much less anxiety. I usually don’t eat my first meal until about 4 o’clock in the afternoon and eat another meal around 7 o’clock. You can manage your c/l pretty easily.

Great to hear it's working for you so well!I would love to follow the carnivore diet. Unfortunately I'm on carbidopa/levodopa and with that high protein intake it lessons the efficacy of the medicine.
Have you ever been on c/l and tried the carnivore diet?
I’m on c/l. I eat in a very small window of time. I usually don’t eat until about 4 PM. I eat my second meal at 7 PM. The meds don’t work as good during that time. I usually time it so it doesn’t bother me too bad. I believe I will soon be off c/l. I’m never hungry. My energy is great. My only advised to do you make sure you keep your electrolytes up, and don’t be skimpy with the fat. Fatty beef is my favorite.
I eat my first meal 3-4 pm. Usually ground beef cooked in different ways. I eat my second meal between 7-8 pm, usually eggs or steak. The small window means I’m fasting most of the time, but I rarely feel hungry. It also works better for my meds. Seems pretty boring, but I really enjoy it and don’t get tired of it. I look at eating more as necessary than to enjoy. The carnivore diet is a great way to heal leaky gut. Letting your guts rest also gives time for them to heal.
Thanks for your post on how you are doing it and how it is working for you. I have a few questions.
1. Have you decreased your meds at all since starting the carnivore diet?
2. Were you eating only approx 4 and 7 p.m. BEFORE you started the carnivore diet, and if so, how long? In other words, did you make BOTH the fasting and carnivore changes around the same time?
3. By saying "make sure you get enough fat, you need it for energy with no carbs" are you saying that if you eat carbs with or soon before or after having fats, the energy you would have gotten from the fat would have been decreased to a certain degree or extent?
4. How long did it take that guy you talked with to work down off meds?
First of all I’m not an expert, I’m still learning. I’m still very early. I immediately felt better starting the diet, but my symptoms are slowly improving. My worst symptom is my gait, and it is much easier for me to walk. I still look goofy walking, but it’s much easier.
1. C/l never seem to work that good for me. When I first got diagnosed, I wondered if I was misdiagnosed because the meds didn’t seem to work. I had a DAT scan. Only after I started to progress, the meds seem to work. I was at one point at six. 25/100 a day. I am down to two or three a day. I think before carnivore, I was on 3-4. to be honest, I can’t feel the medicine working anymore. Doesn’t mean I don’t have symptoms, medicine just gives me side effects. I think I’m back to where I started almost six years ago.
2. I only have been eating that short window since carnivore. I used to fast before carnivore, but my symptoms were so awful I didn’t do it very often. Fasting is one of most beneficial thing you can do for your body.
3. On the carnivore diet, you can’t eat any carbs. Your body can convert some protein into glucose, but your brain runs much better on Fat. I think if you ate carbs and fat at the same time, your body would use the carbs first. If you just eat protein and no fat while eating carnivore, your body will not have enough energy to function properly.
4. I didn’t get that detailed with him. I don’t know him personally. I know that he could not drive or work and he said that he had stage three Parkinson’s. I think he did not respond to c/l, but he was on other medication for Parkinson’s. That was just like my dad who had Parkinson’s, it didn’t respond to c/l. Which is really awful. He did respond to nicotine, and he uses a bunch of it. When I first tried nicotine, my daughter who was 12 but I had went to the doctor because I had been walking so much better.

I was hesitating to bring this up until I Was completely off medication. However, I’ve been on this long enough, that the placebo effect I don’t believe is the cause. I know a lot of people are desperate, like I was. I know for a fact that I will be eating this way for the rest of my life. Most people will try it and give up on it way too soon. It took me about two months before it was easier to walk. I kept going because the nonmotor symptoms were helped very quickly.
l have the same experience. 83 days on 20g net carbs a day and non motor symptoms improved immensely (poo, sleep, anxiety). Tremors seem to be about the same but maybe this takes more time…
