A couple of years ago I developed a cough. I would start coughing and regularly end up kneeling on the floor as tried to cough up phlegm Took a sample to the Dr and the test result came back with the Dr saying that there wasn't a problem I couldn't continue in that way and following advice from this wonderful forum and I have been taking N Acet,-L - cysteine . The coughing has stopped but comes back if I stop.
I have a new doctor now who is so suggesting carbocysteine .
What experience can you wonderful people share?

You still have to diagnose the source of the cough don't you? To rule in or out a lot of things like allergy or asthma, pneumonia, cardiovascular or infectious disease, TB, occupational or pollution disease (black lung, silicosis), pollution, mold, cancer? Ever been around smoking, air pollution, fires, mining, or golfers?
Good for you! Old trick to see if you're really listening. 😃 I came up with it after seeing Caddyshack, the Scottish grounds director tells Bill Murray's goofy character to kill all the gophers, and Murray says "if I kill all the golfers they're going to put me in jail and throw away the key."
