Trigger finger & Bursitis

I have recently developed trigger thumb and knee Bursitis as a result of an over zealous Nordic walking episode. On researching the two conditions, I discovered that both can be caused by B6 deficiency, so have been supplementing with p5p, b2 and a recommended b complex, and of course HDT . Has anyone else come across this?

If you suspect that it is a deficiency of B6 or other vitamin B, it would be advisable to have it checked first. This will make it clear whether you need supplementation or if you should look for the cause and solution elsewhere.

Thank you . I had read your reference before, and that what prompted me to take up b 2 and b6. I've been on cobeneldopa for over 5 years and suspect low in B's. I can tell because I get cracks in the corners of my mouth. It was noticed by a medical herbalist years ago when digestion problems began so that has made me aware.

I had trigger thumb as a 30 something, no PD. Was just caused by overuse.

Thank for replying. Over exercise has certainly resulted in damage to my hand and knee. I thought that the the possible connection to low B6 was interesting. There are a number of references on the subject. Will see if there's any improvement in 6 weeks.

For me I had to have a simple surgery which required a local anaesthetic and it hasn’t happened again.

You might try melatonin lotion for its reparative activities and pain relieving effects as discussed here :

I would love to try this because I have chronic pain, but how would I get the melatonin in UK ?

I recommended this place to another forum member in the UK and they said it came on time and worked well for the things they used it for. They are more than the US, but they did have it:

That forum member said they would buy from them again.

I do not have PD (my husband does), but I have had trigger thumb-- annoying and painful. I went to an occupational therapist and after a few dry needling treatments it went away and hasn't come back. You might try want to try it!
