Could eating Natto cure Parkinson's?

Natto is fermented soybeans and a dish traditionally eaten in Japan. See article below and the connection in how it could help cure your Parkinson's. Since it has many benefits it would be worth trying. The food itself is bland but can be mixed with other foods to be more enjoyable. You should be careful to get organic Natto as most soybeans in the U.S. are genetically modified (GMO). Or you could just take the enzyme Nattokinase instead.

Parkinsonism resolved by Nattokinase

Posted on March 22, 2023 by Jesse Santiano, M.D.

Recently, I published Prostate and Vascular problems relieved with Nattokinase. In it, I described a case of a man in his mid-60s whose symptoms of long-standing prostate pain and vascular problems in the legs improved after one month of a nattokinase and serratiopeptidase combination. His doctors are at a loss on what is happening with him because all the tests they ran were unremarkable. In passing, I mentioned that he had developed a blunt facial affect, shuffling steps, and resting tremors.

All of them are Parkinsonian symptoms because they are characteristic of Parkinson’s disease. He was never diagnosed, but I have suspected it for months. Today I read the narrative review A Potential Role of the Spike Protein in Neurodegenerative Diseases. Two of the authors are familiar to most people: Stephanie Seneff and Peter McCullough.

They described the different mechanisms of how SARS-CoV-2 can induce brain degeneration by producing prions in the brain. They also found that the COVID vaccines, which contain the spike protein, can also produce prion proteins but to a much greater degree. Prions are misfolded proteins that can cause “mad cow” disease and Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease (CJD) in humans.

The scary part about prions is that they are transmissible. That is why the beef industry uses enzymes that can degrade prions in the bone meal for cattle.

Side note: In beef processing, the bones not sold are ground up and fed to the cattle for calcium and proteins. If one cow has bovine spongiform encephalopathy or mad cow disease and is fed back to the rest of the herd, they can all have mad cow disease.

SARS-CoV-2, Spike Protein, and Prions

Going back to CJD, Jean Claude Perez, Claire Moret-Chalmin, and Luc Montagnier (RIP), the Nobel Prize-winning virologist, wrote Towards the emergence of a new form of the neurodegenerative Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease: Twenty-six cases of CJD declared a few days after a COVID-19 “vaccine” Jab. It is a report of 26 people who developed CJD very soon after they received their first or second dose of Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca “vaccines.” Of these 26 cases, 20 had died at the time of writing this article while 6 were still alive. The 20 deaths occurred only 4.76 months after the injection. Among them, 8 of them lead to a sudden death (2.5 months). All this confirms the radically different nature of this new form of CJD, whereas the classic form requires several decades.

Another research detected alpha-synuclein proteins and inflammation in the brain of monkeys after a SARS-CoV-2 infection. The alpha-synuclein protein accumulates in the brains of people with Parkinson’s disease. A preprint study showed Lewy bodies developing in the brain of two macaque monkeys after a SARS-C0V-2 infection. Lewy bodies are also seen in Parkinson’s disease and Lewy-Body Dementia.

In short, several studies link SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID jabs to brain deterioration.

Yesterday, I released Nattokinase Degrades Amyloids and Prions. The article discusses a study showing that nattokinase can degrade amyloids and prions better than the enzymes they use for the bone meal to destroy “mad cow” prions. Nattokinase is one of the best supplements out there. I’m not exaggerating if I say it should be in the water supply. Forget about fluoride. Nattokinase also strengthens the teeth by depositing calcium in them. Nattokinase has anti-coagulant, anti-hypertensive, clot-dissolving, lipid, and blood sugar-lowering properties. It can even diminish atherosclerosis. The links are below.

Nattokinase is also a protease or protein enzyme. It can destroy the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. Two papers have shown that. Nattokinase Degrades the SARS-CoV-2 Spike Protein Another Study shows Nattokinase can Destroy the S1 Spike Protein

Anyway, our guy who is the subject of Prostate and Vascular problems relieved with Nattokinase sounded happy right before I wrote this article. He was more lively, and the monotone in his voice was gone. His appetite has returned. I now recall that he was more lively and had more facial expressions recently when I saw him. His appetite has improved.

To conclude, it looks like nattokinase solved not only his prostate and vascular problem but also his Parkinsonian symptoms.

Many cases of neurodegenerative diseases are reported in VAERS

Fermented Soy Products: Beneficial Potential in Neurodegenerative Diseases 2021 ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

"Conclusions

The accumulation of toxic unique proteins or peptides characterized by abnormal conformational properties inside neuronal cells in the brain is a common feature of AD and PD, which are the two most prevalent neurodegenerative diseases with an incidence that keeps increasing globally. These peptides or proteins usually exert deleterious effects on the CNS through the generation of ROS, exacerbation of inflammation, alteration of mitochondrial homeostasis, and their combinations.

Fermented soybean products have well-known beneficial effects on neurodegenerative diseases and afford a variety of health benefits, such as the prevention of several chronic diseases. In particular, the free isoflavones generated during the fermentation of cooked soybean may attenuate the progression of AD and PD via antioxidant activity and the restoration of ROS-mediated mitochondrial dysfunction, as illustrated in Figure 4.

Health-beneficial effects of fermented soy products on neurodegenerative disorders.

Recent studies also suggested that the regulation of the gut microbiome by fermented soy products can modulate neurodegenerative diseases through metabolites produced by microbial fermentation, such as butyrate, or by changing the gut microbial composition in a beneficial fashion.

However, clinical data regarding the therapeutic or preventive effects of fermented soybean products in neurodegenerative diseases are limited. Further research using large, long-term clinical trials to evaluate fermented soybean products and their components would be helpful in making specific dietary recommendations to patients with AD and PD."

although rare there are some potential side effects

verywellhealth.com/what-is-...

Common Side Effects

Natto has been a traditional Japanese food for thousands of years. There were no side effects with nattokinase in several clinical trials.3

"Based on this information, side effects from nattokinase seem to be rare.

Severe Side Effects

There were no side effects with nattokinase in multiple clinical trials.3 But possible serious side effects may include:

Serious allergic reaction: A severe allergic reaction is a possible serious side effect of any medication. Symptoms may include breathing difficulties, itchiness, and rash.

Clot relocation: Nattokinase may work by breaking up a clot.3 And as a clot is breaking apart, it may relocate and get stuck somewhere else. You may have trouble breathing if the clot gets stuck in your lungs. If the clot gets stuck in your brain vessels, it may result in a stroke.

Excessively low blood pressure: Since nattokinase may lower your blood pressure, this side effect may become excessive and severe.58 Symptoms of dangerously low blood pressure may include dizziness and fainting spells.

Severe bleeding and bruising: Nattokinase may weaken your blood by breaking clots.3"

For this reason, there's a chance of severe bleeding and bruising side effects.

I've tried to eat Natto and I choke! just can't seem to get the stuff down 🤢

But don’t you think if natto cured Parkinson’s, very few people in Japan would have it? It’s a very popular food there.

Exactly what I was thinking. I was just about to look up statistics on Parkinson's in Japan. And they have one of the oldest populations too.

gomelgo profile image

Looks like it's roughly half. If you consider that many people even in Japan don't necessarily consume enough natto, then it makes sense. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parki....

Also, I am more and more growing convinced that I got PD from COVID. My timeline is very well matched from the COVID and PD, and every time I have gotten covid since then, my symptoms have worsened.

TRUTH every word. Thank you. I was actually tearing up when reading your post. I'm going back to taking natto supplements. May even get the actual stuff and start eating it.

Here is the link I came across today. You have to check it out. askthedentist.com › vitamin-k2-benefits Vitamin K2 Benefits for Dental Health - Ask the Dentist

I discovered that natto is high in K2 which is lacking in vegans and which the lack of can cause frequent cavities. Thought you would find this most helpful as I saw your post concerning your dental problems. It all seems to connect.

And K2 is also needed for healthy bones.

I did buy some organic Natto in 3.5 oz containers. As others have noted at first it can turn you off because the fermentation causes it to grow a sticky substance. Basically it has a bland taste so it can be mixed with other food or condiments to make it more palatable. It goes well with mustard and anything hot and spicy.

Before you waste your money on any form of medication, why not do something that will REVERSE YOUR PD COMPLETELY?

I was diagnosed the ae of 52 and have walked for one hour, every second day, as fast a I can and, after 2 years, I was able to walk normally

JohnPepper profile image

Before you waste any money on any substance to try to cure your PD; get it into your head that there is no cure for PD! NOTHING!

BUT!!!

If you walk for one hour, as fast as you can, every second day, YOU WILL REVERSE YOUR PD!

That is a promise!!!

I was diagnosed with PD at the age of 52 and, after doing the fast walking for one hour, every second day, my PD symptoms disappeared after 2 years.

I was only able to walk for a couple of minutes, at the beginning but , within six months I was walking at 7Ks per hour! My PD symptoms disappeared and I have been free of them ever since.

I have tried stopping the walking due to other health problems but resumed as soon as possible after each occasion.

I have been all lover the English-speaking world to show other PD patients how to walk, and it has worked everywhere. Why not ask around in your country?

John I am grateful for you and all you have done to share how fast walking has reversed your symptoms of Parkinson's. And I have read about you in Norman Doidge's books on how the brain can change itself.

Exercise will help anyone get better from any disease and it has been proven to especially help those with Parkinson's.

But I believe you are wrong to say there is no cure for PD! NOTHING!

First Parkinson's is more of a syndrome than a disease. There is no specific cause etc. Individuals have similar symptoms yet not all the same etc. There are many others like you that have found solutions to their Parkinson's and believe it has cured them. So much depends on what caused your specific Parkinson symptoms as to what you can do to reverse it. Your attitude has much to do with it.

But to tell someone there is no cure is not giving them any hope and not true. Doctors and scientist are not God, though most think they are! Eventually we will all pass away, so the most important thing is to be sure where you will spend eternity.

The heading of my article was suggesting eating natto as the surprise benefit might cure your Parkinson's symptoms. I don't encourage any drugs as they always have side effects.

Isn't MISO also fermented soy bean?

Trailing profile image
Trailing in reply to Ghmac

Yes, but their fermentation requires different cultures. Natto is healthier but Miso has a broader application. Natto is bland and is more palatable with hot and spicy seasoning. Miso contains other ingredients that add flavor to it. There are different type of both.

Our PwP caught Parkinson's disease after the SARS flu in 2011. When Covid occurred in 2022, her situation worsened. Your mention of nattokinase gave us hope. Thank you. Can anyone share information on how to use it? Should she use other enzymes along with natto?
