I’m not sure how earlier diagnosis will help except to maybe shock people into a better diet and more exercise.

It can't help everybody, by definition it can't help anybody who is already been diagnosed, but worth knowing for some other purpose for others.

Do you ever see those commercials about smoking or the person is already had heart surgery because they were a chronic smoker or they had their voice box removed because it was cancerous or they had half of their face surgically removed because of the cancer caused by the burning and the carcinogens? One commercial talks about amputations a person had that the doctors attributed to the lack of oxygen because of the smoking. And then sometimes there's an afterward flash on the screen about how that person died 3 weeks after making this message.
