Hi everybody , I just started the B1 HCL yesterday with initial dose 200 mg thiamine in the morning and 200 mg evening.. Today I woke up and felt somehow stronger with better balance and strength in my legs and generally feeling better... I'm just wondering..is it possible to feel better so fast?

It is a restorative effect, B1 improves the energy level of the brain cells affected by Parkinson’s disease. It depends a lot on the characteristic of the lesion. In other words, it is theorized that there are healthy cells, suffering cells, and dying cells, and the restorative effect of B1 restores the ability of the latter to produce dopamine, providing almost immediate relief. I suggest making a video of the old condition and the new one to remember this.

Yes, it is possible, stay on that dose for a few weeks. The largest improvements occur with time at sweet-spot.

I don’t want to cast a downer, and I’m delighted to hear you are seeing improvements but with such a quick reaction, you may find the dose a little high for you in the long run. I will explain… Contrary to the opinion of some doctors, we do not excrete B1 soon after we’ve taken it! It can take a couple of weeks before it leaves the body. This means that, as we are taking B1 daily, the level in our bodies continues to increase to a point when we begin to excrete it and we maintain a level. So my point is that if you have a reaction early on, encouraging though it may be, as you continue with your daily dose, you may go above your sweet spot and see worsening symptoms suggesting that the dose is too high for you. So just keep alert to the fact that if symptoms worsen, this signifies the dose is too high. IF this happens, take a break of 1-2 weeks to allow the B1 levels to drop and restart at a lower dose. I expect you’ve read my book - Parkinson’s and the B1 therapy. I also have a Facebook group ‘Parkinson’s B1 therapy’ on which you will find lots of information and support.

I totally agree. I have seen this happen a few times before. Expect to lower your dose.

Usually not so fast. What will be the key is within the next 2-3weeks is that you find the correct balance. Do you take other products like Mucuna and vitamines?

I take good quality multivitamin, fish oil, ginko, reishi mushroom, garlic extract, cinnamon and magnesium

Think to add Mucuna, it's important. As other said (but Daphne is THE reference), it's a long run process and once you find the good balance try to keep it as long as possible. But keep in mind that the disease continue to evoluate, with B1 slower but still, and you will have to adapt the dose every 6 months approximately. I am building the Age Institute in Geneva to analyse the best knowledge to extend life, it include stem cells for Parkinson.

I agree with Daphne. I am in week 9 of b1 .I was at 50 mg. 3 times per week. I just added a 4th day. I really want instant results but more than that, I don't want overdose.

I am just now seeing really encouraging results. I think in the long run it's better to go slow.

On a positive note, it looks like b1 is really going to help you with such a reaction

Could you share with us what form of B1 you are taking? We are debating between the sublingual and the oral hcl form. Thanks. We plan to start low to avoid any increase in symptoms due to overdose

just a cheap form of Thiamine Hcl

Yes, Superior Source Sublingual 100 mg. I cut it in half with a pill cutter to make it 50 mg

YES! Don't question it, just believe. All you have to do is get the dosing right. It can take a while, but clearly it works for you as it did for me. Do read Daphne Bryan's "user's guide".

Good luck,

Dan.

Hi everybody, I have noticed another effect of B1 on my body.. This time objective... since I was using B1 over one month I gained amazing 6 kg of weight! My problem was low weight and muscle gain...I could eat anything but my weight was always low - about 73 kg/188cm, and was impossible to gain anything for over 12 years....now I have 79kg after one month on Thiamine..I also came across this:

What an eye-opener. Do you personally relate to any of the conclusions of this research? Did you also experience malnutrition due to a poor diet high in fat and sugar? In any case, it seems that thiamine plays a key role in the repair process. Perhaps that could also explain the success stories of B1 therapy. However, the conclusion here is that the underlying cause should be addressed with a good diet. That, in turn, explains the success of the MIND and Mediterranean diets…

This research is amazing, I never thought something like High Calorie Malnutrition exists and the role the TD plays.. especially like rate limiting factor!!oh my God...:)

Regarding the malnutrition...At the beginning I was trying to go vegetarian, but the wrong way.I just eliminated the meat and in order to fill myself with empty calories like rice, pasta or Pota to es with some seasoning or occasionaly some cheese.
