Whole Body Vibration

The research being done in Vibration Gloves is extremely interesting but moving forward slowly and though some people are trying to make gloves in their own shops it is unavailable to me at this time and perhaps it will be a long time before I will get access. Maybe too late,

I noted that the idea that some long wave vibrations could be beneficial to neurological patients came from the observation of the positive affect realized by PD patients in the 1930' s while riding on old steam engine trains on short track rail and horse drawn buggies on coble stones. clickety clack, clickety klack and probably a bone jarring experience . There is quite a reach between that and finger tip vibration gloves so I wondered if other sources of vibration would be of any use.

I found the following summery of a government report on the effect of a vibration plate on the symptoms of neurological disease including PD.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

The thing is that these vibration plates are available now from several manufacturers and are not terribly expensive.

I will continue to investigate and report

I am sure I saw a post here on this subject but could not find it. Maybe it will show on the side when I post this. Anyone who has more information or is using a vibration plate, please reply.

It was even earlier than 1930 for Jean charcot and his train carriages. 1872. Personally I always felt better after hours on the tractor mower, mowing the paddocks. I looked into it. Peter Tass mentions it in his "trial" write up. The executive summary is in the article you linked. (4) Conclusions: The effects of WBV on human PD patients remains inconclusive.

I’ve been using a vibration plate for a couple of weeks now. I get a significant amount of less rigidity for a couple of hours after use. Also less tremoring.

I use the same device, from Amazon. I find it helpful as a warm up exercise for spin class or RSB.

Thank you all . Thanks Julie , thats the post I was looking for

It at first seemed to be reasonable that a specific frequency may be best so I have been looking for a vibration plate that allows a range to be used and as yet unsuccesfull and I am not sure now that the ability to vary frequency is necessary e

I have great results with this. Just add a fairly rough 5 acre paddock

I just took delivery of a WBV plate by powerplate.com I’ve only had it for few days, so it’s too early to comment on the efficacy for me but On the website go to the science tab and scroll down to the Parkinson’s study on WBV.

Thanks so much for your work to come up with a DIY alternative. I am perplexed as you are as to why an official device that appears in have no possible side effects still isn’t available.
