One of things things I would like to do after I retire is earn a Private Pilot's License (PPL). Is there anybody who has had problems passing the Medical Exam if you have had PD or DBS surgery?

There are pilots still flying with PD that’s controlled well with medication. Here in the UK the CAA states the following needs to be confirmed

Certification is possible when there is preserved cognitive function, acceptable motor control, absence of significant medication side effects and absence of significant non-motor impairment

You can get a medical and fly with PD. The thing that got me was my medication. Anything other than Carbidopa/Levodopa I was not allowed to fly. The FAA claims too many side effects with other meds and they have final say no matter what your Dr. or any other DR says. I suggest you join AOPA. (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) Last I knew they had a specialist that dealt with medical issues not only getting but keeping medicals as well. Good Luck
