A new paper from Stanford's Peter Tass, developer of the vibrating glove therapy for PD, is out. Extremely technical, but some here will probably love to dive into it.

Thanks. Very interesting.

Hacks can be reprogrammed...

I'm not sure I understand your point.

If I understand correctly, it randomizes the amplitude and timing times as well. I think these parameters can also be randomized in the hacked gloves.

I can modify those parameters easily enough on my gloves in principle. I am interested to understand better the various alternatives and inter-relation of treatment parameters with treatment targets. I only skimmed it last night. It's my daughters wedding today. I'll try to study it properly when I'm back in France as part of the Mk3 glove build

Congratulations!!!

But maybe there is no need to do anything with the hacked gloves, because after re-reading it, I understood that the study is only about DBS...

The study is not only about DBS. Arguably, it's not even about DBS. It's about the parameters that affect long term desynchronisation of small networks of LIF neurons with STDP in a mathematical model. The model has to some degree been validated by clinical experience for both vCR and CR in DBS. And it's main conclusion was it would be worth pursuing the theory with some mathematical models of larger networks.
