FYI, new patent issued last week to Peter Tass. Haven't read it yet. Link is to PDF of the patent.

I will see if this works. The first letter number combo is the patent number- the link is supposedly a PDF describing it

I did the search process using key words on this site

ppubs.uspto.gov/pubwebapp/s...

If you go to the patent search site you can probably find the patent and the PDF with all the details.

i cant help feeling a bit more time organising clinical trials and a bit less time filing esoteric patents wouldnt go amiss

I get the impression that Stanford is more concerned with monetizing the invention than they are with FDA approval and actually helping people with Parkinson's.

That being said, I think many are expecting too much from the gloves. I see them as a tool in treating the symptoms rather than addressing disease modification. More of an adjunct or partial replacement for pharmaceuticals or DBS.

If they don't file to protect patents then a private company can come along, duplicate their work, and patent it. I would rather they have control vs some vampire venture capitalist.

True. I just don't understand why their upcoming trial isn't properly controlled. Even if the trial has positive results it just kicks the can 2 years down the road. They would still require phase 2 and 3 trials to seek FDA approval
