Fasting.

And I've been doing that for 311 straight days!

I'm on the O.M.A.D. (one meal a day with all calories eaten within a 2 hour window) diet.

Seems like my tremors have been greatly reduced the last 30 days or so.

Of course I'm doing a lot more than 'just' fasting. ... So you never know 'which' of my protocols/ systems is working (or not working)

ya ain't gonna believe it and you should know... neither does my neuro doctor... (who is a moron)... i am NOT officially dx'd with PD ... but i know i have it with the combo of all my symptoms... but i ATTACKED my PD from the VERY FIRST DAY (June 20, 2021) that I had my first tremor....

----------------

it's too long to list my 40 supplements

in addition to those:

1. i get as much 'sun' (30 minutes at a time) as i can

2. i use my sauna/ super cold shower -- at least twice a week

3. i go to sleep with my arms/hands grasping two massagers to 'smother/cloak' the tremors

4. i'm on the O.M.A.D. diet (just in the middle of that now) -- today is #312 -- i think my PD is in my faaaaaaaaaat belly (but i've LOST 60 pounds in just over 10 months!!!)

5. vibration plate machine

6. PEMF mat (amazon has these for $1100)

7. i was exercising vigorously 2 - 5 times weekly... but i've completely fallen away from that the last 3 months so i can focus on restoring my business after covid

i'm sure there's other stuff.... but you get the idea

i'm throwing the WHOLE "kitchen sink' at my PD

good luck to you

I take 20 supplements. Would love to compare lists. Also: live.childrenshealthdefense...

What supplements do you take?

PDWarrior1900 profile image
PDWarrior1900 in reply toSmittybear7

a MILLION of 'em... too many to write here, right now... one day i will do that since i've had multiple inquiries (over '40' supplements and powders)

beccainnyc profile image

How long do you use vibration plate and what poses

PDWarrior1900 profile image
PDWarrior1900 in reply tobeccainnyc

my machine is auto-programmed to run at 10 minutes per session... my usage really varies as i get really lazy when i'm feeling good (which is a LOT the last couple of months)... so i only use it these days when i get an occasional leg cramp (my vibration plate machine SAVED ME from excruciating AGONY at least 3 times this past year from the leg cramps!) .... When i was using it... one, 10 minute session daily.... As for 'poses' ... I just stand there on top of the plate.... Best of luck!

Try to get Chinese herbs from a qualified herbologist. Cramps will go away

thanks for the tip!

What setting do you have your vibrating plate set and what kind do you have? Do you have osteoporosis? Thanks

PDWarrior1900 profile image
PDWarrior1900 in reply toSmittybear7

there are several pre-programmed '10 minute' settings.... i found one that i like the best but it would be impossible to describe in 'words' the various rhythmic patterns... I bought mine new several years ago to help my back problems... i think i paid $700 or so brand new... worth every penny... you can find good ones, used on craigslist... even amazon has brand new ones for around $300 -- i don't what is causing my hip problems... (obesity was certainly the 'cause' but i've lost 60 pounds on OMAD diet and my hip pain/ limping is much worse than before i started the diet)... but i plan to go to an orthopeadic doc soon

Smittybear7 profile image
Smittybear7 in reply toPDWarrior1900

Does it help tremors? What setting do you use? Thanks

PDWarrior1900 profile image
PDWarrior1900 in reply toSmittybear7

just a reminder to you and everyone else... the neuro/MDS that i saw in september said these very words to me after his exam: "The good news is that you don't have Parkinson. The bad news is that you don't have Parkinson." ... I have no idea what that means and I was too shocked to ask. I think he's wrong.. my condition fluctuates day to day... but overall is 'stable'... so i "throw the kitchen sink" at whatever it is that causes 1000s of INTERNAL tremors ... eyelid tremors.... left face numbs sometimes ... cramping in legs... constipation,, too ... all of those are PD symptoms... so 'F' the doctor!

PDWarrior1900 in reply toPDWarrior1900

i think i missed answering your question... i do sooooooo many things it's impossible to tell which (if any) are helping me... The ONLY thing I know for sure that WORKS... is the O.M.A.D. diet ... i've lost 60 pounds in 10 1/2 months and i still eat pizza... potatoes... chips ... fruit... etc ... but always under 1500 calories... one meal per day -- eating within a 2 hour windows... fasting 22 hours (sometimeS MORE!)

The link isn't good, maybe you can type the title. And what is your protocol with the mat

PDWarrior1900 profile image
PDWarrior1900 in reply tobeccainnyc

hmmm i just clicked on the link successfully... so...

1. try a right click ... open link in new window, or

2. try a different browser

as for protocol... i fall asleep (on my back) on the mat.... it's max setting is 30 minutes before it shuts itself off ...

beccainnyc profile image
beccainnyc in reply toPDWarrior1900

I’m on the one meal a day, ‘diet’, and I feel better because of it! I need to lose weight, so I needed to cut back, and not eat in between meal snacks, so I tried this one meal a day deal! It had not occurred to me that it might help my dealing with Parkinson’s symptoms!

PDWarrior1900 profile image
PDWarrior1900 in reply toddmagee1

Keep it up! Today is day #314 of my O.M.A.D. -- all calories eaten within a 2 hour window. ... And I have never never never once cheated. I've lost about 60 pounds and I still eat ... potatoes ... chips ... cheese ... yoghurt ... meat ... veggie pizza (cauliflower crust)... The trick is ... If I only eat once a day... I get totally stuffed after around 1250 calories... So that's a "net loss" of 750 calories per day that my body needs to "maintain weight." Another trick: Make your 'main meal' vegetables... You'll eat a lot of 'nutritious, very low calories' that fill you up and is great for your digestion/ gut microbiome! Good luck!

PDWarrior1900 profile image
PDWarrior1900

the more you do research the more you will learn that the "gut microbiome" links to the "brain microbiome" and many researchers have concluded that a 'leaky gut' can be a direct cause of PD - good luck

all those things you do are probably fine but I would bet money on the one thing thats doing the most for you is the fasting. The reason is because this induces AUTOPHAGY, which is the process that clears away the tangled, misfolded proteins that are choking your fragile dopaminergic neurons. I wouldnt be surprised if your symptoms mildly reversed if you keep it up. Thanks for the inspiration!

PDWarrior1900 profile image
PDWarrior1900 in reply tobassofspades

Fasting is #1, I agree.... And I learned about "autophagy" as one of the reasons I started my O.M.A.D. 314 days ago.... But... (and I have watched sooooooo many videos about "autophagy") .... No ... one... agrees... on... 'when' .... autophagy begins during a fast. I've seen some "authorities" say 16 - 18 hours into the fast... While others have said not until AFTER... 72 hours. ... Keep that in mind if you start O.M.A.D. ... The #1 thing I 100% know that O.M.A.D. has done for me? I've lost about 60 pounds of... FAAAAAAAAAT!!!

I have two meals per day; Lunch at 2PM and dinner at 6PM. I don't monitor calories but my belt is getting loose. Eventually I'll have to take it in another notch.
