Marcia,

What you are describing are poor circulation issues which will cause cold feet and numbness.

The feet go cold and numb because they are furthest from the heart and poor circulation makes the cold feet effect more prominent. In terms of exercise, walking and stretching would be helpful to improve circulation in the legs. Improvements can be slow because you are trying to undo years of damage to the circulation system.

Compression stockings have also shown benefit for poor leg circulation :

In terms of supplements, Vinpocetine can have vasorelaxing effects which can help improve circulation in the brain, but also in peripheral vessels.

Resveratrol has also been shown to have vasorelaxing effects.

The are many combination supplements that are targeted to improve circulation such as this one combining Hesperidin and Diosmin :

Hi MarciaArt wrote such an excellent answer. You can also try some other things. You can soak your feet in nice warm water, can even add some Epsom salts. You can buy a pair of shearling boots the kind that look like Uggs and designate them your house shoes. Also a heating pad would be great. You can put your legs and your feet on it when you are asleep. Just make sure it is on the lowest setting. Far infrared red light heating pad would be great. And don't forget to massage your feet, one of those two ball massager works great. Few minutes of the massage really helps. Best of luck. Mary

From your brief post it is not clear whether you have circulation problems or peripheral neuropathy. If you have been taking levodopa medication without supplementing vitamin B6 you may have peripheral neuropathy due to low B6. If so, read my posts here:

Not as far as I know.

The one thing we are least well-equipped to do here is diagnosis. Any number of things could be causing the weakness you are experiencing. My recommendation is to see a doctor and get a proper diagnosis for whatever is going on.

Definitely have a doctor look into this. Also should have B12 checked.

Low B12 can also lead to peripheral neuropathy, losing feeling and nerve response in the hands, feet or legs which can also lead to falling. It’s a very simple blood test so we definitely have B12 checked as well as B6 and see what those show then also you can then look at things like blood flow in the legs.

Sounds much like Neuropathic pain. There are no easy answers to this, vitamins are too litle to late, not necessarily connected to Levadopa (This pain is common in Multiple Schlerosis).

Best advice on page.. see a specialist.

I Neuropathic pain warm waterr will not help as it is a nerve problem. I spent 6 months heating my feet! In reality cold water or ice is better.

But don't guess, this can get serious especially if you are loosing muscle stength. Find a pain centre, even then there are over 50 types of Neuropathic pain.

I don’t know if you can manage it, but riding an exercise bike for 10 or 15 minutes really helps boost circulation in the legs and alleviates numbness in my feet.

I also have cold hands and feet and numbness. I do have peripheral neuropathy. I take a b complex which as b6 and other b's in balance. I have found R Lipoic Acid to help with the neuropathy. You can get it on Amazon.
