My right foot (the side affected by PD) has gone numb on one side. One side of my big toe on that foot is also numb. Has anyone else experienced this PD symptom? If so, did you numbness continue to spread? Did it ever get better or go away?

Numbness
This could be so many things, including Parkinson's, that it is worth getting back to your Parkinson's nurse or your neurologist. Don't hesitate, that's what they are paid for and you are keeping them in a job.
I have something similar but it’s in my left hand. The edge opposite to the thumb goes numb. It reaches from the wrist to the tip of my little finger. Only the outside edge of the finger is affected the inside edge is OK. It comes and goes (but never totally disappears) and it doesn’t seem to spread to the other fingers. I mentioned it to my doctor (my GP not my neurologist) and he surmised it might a nerve trapped in my elbow as that is the most common cause of that symptom.
My Parkinson symptoms started on my right side but now there seems to be no preference. Also I have a general ‘pins and needles’ sensation in both hands and both feet but my neurologist says this is due to a compression point in my spine which is visible on an MRI scan.
Thanks for your replies. I am seeing my neurologist on Monday and will talk to her about it. Interestingly my big toe on my left foot (the side not affected yet by PD) has been numb on one side for several years. I mentioned it to several drs over the years but they all said it was nerve damage from exercise; I am wondering now if it was an early PD symptom, as I was just diagnosed 15 months ago.
Johnwt, I have the pins and needles sensation in my right forearm as well. It comes and goes but I think it must be related to PD because it seems to get worse when I am under stress.
Might be Parasthesia. Perhaps get some info from Googleing Parasthesia and Parkinson's disease.
me too. No improvement.
I'd get another opinion. Could be a serious problem of the spine, nervous system or circulation. Even though you have PD, doesn't mean you can't get other injuries.
do you have Diabetes too? or have you been checked for it?
I saw my neurologist today and she said the numbness in my foot is not related to Parkinson's. She felt I had tweaked the nerve that runs along the top ridge of my foot. It makes sense to me because I had a massage on Saturday and the numbness is now gone. Hoping it doesn't return.
Numbness is perhaps Paresthesia. but probably something else. Either way I have had numbness in left big toe for several years prior to PD diagnosis. Made driving a manual car very difficult as I couldn't feel the clutch pedal properly. Now have an automatic. Not allowed to drive any more now though.
Must be something like 11 or 12 years since first occurred. Numbness has been consistent as far as I remember. PD diagnosis January 2007 but looking back I think PD first began in about 1997 with sense of smell not being right. Anyway had numbness for a long time without any improvement with PD medication.
