"There’s a point when you go with what you’ve got. Or you don’t go." – Joan Didion; The Paris Review interview (1978).
Knowledge is power......within reason.
As the central nervous system fails, both parasympathetic and sympathetic......your brain is being sent warning signals from your increasingly vulnerable and disrupted body. As these signals are recieved....your brain tells your body that there is trouble and malfunction. One of many effects is anxiety. To be a little more precise your body goes into fight or flight, resulting in dystonia etc. which increases with the influx of chemicals on the dopamine and serotonin metabolic pathways and the associated by products. Try to identify your triggers, ex: avoid the news in favor of a little bit longer or less anxious life, set boundaries with folks who represent triggers......be aware of yourself and where you are in the day...month....year. Resist fear in favor of a basic understanding of what is going on. Establish a baseline for yourself...a nice memory, or a special place or a stalwart person in your life. Go to that space in your mind. Drag yourself back to whatever you define as your new and evolving "normal". Practice makes perfect.....nothing is free. HANG TOUGH until you cant. Your not alone. ......"Life changes fast. Life changes in the instant. You sit down to dinner and life as you know it ends. – Joan Didion; The Year of Magical Thinking (2005)

Words of wisdom, beehive23! Resisting fear and anxiety, when one can sense body systems changing, starting to fail, has been, indeed, upsetting, to me! Temperature variants ( like feeling cold, when it’s hot ), seeing Double Vision suddenly, that stays that way for 15 minutes, or getting such painful, constraining spasms, in the arch of my foot, suddenly, that I fall, are just a few, of many symptoms, that bother me! The tragedy of it all for me, is that, I don’t have much support from medical staff, or understanding, on what to do, to cope with some of the overwhelming symptoms. I feel like the only people that really care, and truly understand, and would like to help, are fellow victims, of this insidious ailment, called the shaking palsy-PD! This forum, HealthUnlocked.com is a source of comfort and help for me, and is where I get my best advice, and support, in coping with living with advanced PD! Thank you for your awesome contributions! You are deeply appreciated! Take care!
This statement is so true "Try to identify your triggers, ex: avoid the news in favour of a little bit longer or less anxious life, set boundaries with folks who represent triggers...."
