Hello! ive had pd 20 yrs since i was 33. PWP need to be aware that respiratory abnormalities often accompany pd especially at night. this often leads to changes in ph in the mouth thereby promoting tooth decay. i have dozens of pd friends who have lost all thier teeth because of this. Google it. my solution....use biotene toothpaste which keeps mouth moist longer when sleeping. buy a waterpik or similar tartar removing device thereby reducing or eliminating floss which i cannot use anylonger. the waterpik type devices aerate the gums and remove tartar and prevent periodontal disease. both are inexpensive otc and will likely help save you from catastrophic toothloss and periodontal disease. hang tough...cheers!

In my case low saliva production is part of the problem. The prescription medication Cevimeline improves that.
I second the recommendation for WaterPik.
I really needed that info. beehive23, because I’ve been having a terrible time, with tooth decay, and the Dentist blaming sugar and sodas, when, actually, i don’t consume a lot of sugars and sodas! You are appreciated, beehive23.

Reduce your stomach acid.
Anyone constipated? Drink cucumber water in the morning.
Good tip. Thanks. I’ve ordered it.
Thanks much beehive! I am due for dental extraction, dental bridge and an implant all before the end of April! This sucks!
Is any of this due to mouth breathing? Mouth breathing causes tooth decay.
