They used Broccoli Sprout supplements. I started adding a tomato to my broccoli and daikon radish sprout smoothie. Hopefully I am not messing it up.

Sulforaphane Augments Glutathione and Influences Brain Metabolites in Human Subjects: A Clinical Pilot Study karger.com/Article/FullText...

"Schizophrenia and other neuropsychiatric disorders await mechanism-associated interventions. Excess oxidative stress is increasingly appreciated to participate in the pathophysiology of brain disorders, and decreases in the major antioxidant, glutathione (GSH), have been reported in multiple studies. Technical cautions regarding the estimation of oxidative stress-related changes in the brain via imaging techniques have led investigators to explore peripheral GSH as a possible pathological signature of oxidative stress-associated brain changes. In a preclinical model of GSH deficiency, we found a correlation between whole brain and peripheral GSH levels. We found that the naturally occurring isothiocyanate sulforaphane increased blood GSH levels in healthy human subjects following 7 days of daily oral administration. In parallel, we explored the potential influence of sulforaphane on brain GSH levels in the anterior cingulate cortex, hippocampus, and thalamus via 7-T magnetic resonance spectroscopy. A significant positive correlation between blood and thalamic GSH post- and pre-sulforaphane treatment ratios was observed, in addition to a consistent increase in brain GSH levels in response to treatment. This clinical pilot study suggests the value of exploring relationships between peripheral GSH and clinical/neuropsychological measures, as well as the influences sulforaphane has on functional measures that are altered in neuropsychiatric disorders."

If you add mustard seed powder it increases the benefits. And a fat will increase absorption

I use the Daikon radish sprouts instead of the mustard powder.

Where do you get the radish sprouts?

Quote Studies have now shown that the addition of powdered mustard seeds to the heat processed broccoli significantly increased the formation of sulforaphane. It turns out the mustard seed contains a particularly resilient form of myrosinase

Don't be like me. I am too lazy to heat my sprouts so I just have a bunch of them, a handful, in a smoothie. I started adding a tomato, which may make it harder for the sulforaphane to form, which is very tasty. I may start adding Worcestershire and hot sauce (but not vodka).

So the sulforaphane is activated when chewing the sprouts. Otherwise they are just full of myrosinase. (I’m spelling this all wrong and I’m exhausted). Anyways, that is my understanding. So I have been hesitant to put them in a smoothie and instead chew them vigorously like a little 🐰🐇. I would sure rather not though. Are you confident grinding them in the smoothie is okay?

Maybe wriga can weigh in, but I think putting broccoli and daikon sprouts in the nutribullet with some water and blending to a liquid is better than chewing them. And I let it sit for about 10 minutes. I am hoping it is forming sulforaphane in the glass before I drink it.

Could someone translate into English please excuse my stupidity

Sulforaphane boosts glutathione, and glutathione is low in PwP. Glutathione is also the master antioxidant.

Thanks for posting this research, really interesting and consolidates much of what we have learnt about sulforaphane from Wriga s research. I noticed J Fahey name as one of the researchers. He is a leading authority of sulforaphane in the States.

I wonder what supplements they were using as many commercially produced ones are not activated in the same way, in the body as using broccoli seeds or sprouts and mustard seeds.
