Helpful video explains Lithium Orotate supplementation and how it helps balance neurotransmitters and synaptic functionality.

How Lithium Orotate treats the brain
Quite a lucid explanation of how lithium works. Very well worth watching 👍
...I am also reminded about a key element that attracted me to Lithium Therapy. Low dose lithium acts as an adaptogen for neurotransmitters.
Early in my search for therapeutic substances I was consumed with the issue of how to balance the neurotransmitters. We know that dopamine is low, so we supplement. But the serotonergic system is also affected - serotonin. And so too the cholinergic system - acetylcholine. Would we need to supplement also, to keep them in balance. Also GABA and glutamate needs to stay in balance.
It was suggested that Lithium could do the job. But I can't say for sure. This is due to the absence of large scale randomized, double blind, placebo controlled trials.
But here we have a presenter who has used it on himself and treats others with low dose lithium and speak of seeing results in a mood disorder: balancing transmitters for better daily functioning.
Clinical evidence - not the gold standard, but sufficiently convincing to me.
Lithium stays in the nightly stack.
So should I start with 10mg per day? What time to take it?
What I have learned from books and doctors is take 5mg per day and re evaluate in 2 or 3 weks. If you don't notice any difference add 5mg. Keep re evaluating every 2 to 3 weeks and 5mg increments. The max dose that was recommended to me by my doctor was 20mg. Discontinue if you have any adverse effect, but that is unlikely. Dose timing is not important since it takes time to build up a result. Its not a rescue drug. I do well on 15mg and I just take it in the morning with everything else. Good luck!
I can't believe I posted the same guy doing a video on Lithium the day after your post! Or that I missed your post. Doh!
Would you agree that Thin Lizzy's "Dancing in the Moonlight" is the coolest easy song to play on bass?
No, I would disagree about that song. Its pretty boring in my opinion, but if you like it, thats great. The coolest easy song to play on bass, I think, is probably the end of The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, Crazy Train by Ozzy, NIB by Black Sabbath. or Dazed and Confused.
Maybe the fact that I have seen Thin Lizzy in two countries, have all of their albums (and all of Phil's albums too), and consider Live and Dangerous the greatest album of all time makes me biased
I like the idea of learning the bass for The Chain. That sounds like fun.
Boys Are Back In Town has a cool bass line. Great chords on guitar too. The Chain is easy but so cool to play. That riff where the bass plays alone at the end, I mean. Also check out the bass on I Want You (Shes So Heavy) by The Beatles, there a cool riff in there. Come Together is awesome, too. The beginning of Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith is a great bass part too.
Dear All,
LO 5mg bottle received yesterday. Would like to start from Saturday.
I should take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach? Or at night?
What signs and symptoms should I be looking out for? Any help with the dosing regimen?

Repeating what I wrote above :

Saw the video again. He talks of neurotransmitter buildup within the synapses leading to the receptor exhaustion and death.
Dr. Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein talks of similar build in the synapses.

Jay my good friend , if it makes you feel better, use that as your guide. If it makes you feel worse or no different, then you know it's not something useful. The difference can be very subtle. For me , I didn't realize it was doing anything until multiple people pointed out that I was very sharp minded (whereas previously I had horrible brain fog for as long as I could remember.) that was about 2 weeks in to my 15mg dose. I have been on this does for a few years now and have not experienced any negative effects.
