German New Medicine's view of PD

What if the shaking and difficulty moving is the 'healing' stage? Would this make you feel more positive about your condition and would this, in fact, improve your chances of healing. I don’t propose to explain all the theories of German New Medicine, which isn’t new, but just say that for us to have developed Parkinson’s, we must have strongly experienced a feeling of being trapped physically or emotionally. Well it’s a totally different perspective!

Sorry I must have missed your post. I did a search but nothing came up. GNM is certainly interesting and such a totally different perspective on symptoms.

Thanks for sharing. It gives some hope. Keep the information coming..I'm getting really frustrated but trying to stay positive.

How is this different from Janice Walton-Hadlock

Beyond the similar findings and approach, Dr Hadlock has also noted that the Vagus Nerve is inhibited in PwP. Interestingly, chiropractor Dr Weiner draws similar conclusions: "Polyvagal Theory and the Mind Body Connection"

Yeah that is different. There are a few other things I could say but I will let it go with that.

This reminds me of the seventies and eighties take on diseases. It locates the causes within the person, diseases of the body are caused by you, if you resolved your conflict or whatever you would be healed. I wish it was that easy. It is also a very victim (patient) blaming approach. The “therapist” can always say you are not yet healed because you didnt try hard enough, eat the right food, do the right exercise, believe in your healing and the list goes on.

I don't think you understand this approach based on you calling it victim blaming. The way I understand it is that circumstances overwhelmed our very normal nervous system to such a degree or extent that it is stuck in overdrive so to speak. There is absolutely nothing in that which blames the victim imho. In fact, I see it as a form of empowerment if one wishes to be empowered. But maybe staying in the victim space is just easier, or maybe it FEELS more empowering? Maybe this explanation is a bit different, and more helpful? outthinkingparkinsons.com/a...
