Can anyone recommend a mg scale that actually works? I've tried 2 (purchased from Amazon) but had to send both back because they were totally unreliable even after calibration.
Second question... since I can't find a scale that works (yet), can anyone give me a ballpark U.S. customary teaspoon measurement SPECIFICALLY for Barlowe's 40% brown Indian mucuna in order to get about 100-120 (ish) mg of levodopa? The serving size listed on the label is 650 mg, so at 40%, it seems like I need around 250-300 mg. I know using teaspoons to measure isn't accurate, but until I can get a reliable scale, I'm just winging it.

It seems there has been a noticeable degradation in the quality of merchandise at Amazon over the last year or so. Several items in recent memory were outrageously inferior to the published description.
I take barlowe’s. I usually take 1/8 of a teaspoon which is about 130mg, those are rough calculations though. I opened a capsule and it comes with 1/4 teaspoon + 1/32 teaspoon. I was taking a whole capsule for a couple of weeks and that was definitely too much. I’m actually gonna try cutting the dose down because I think I might still be taking a bit too much. I want to know what you guys think, currently like I said, I’m taking 1/8 tsp which lasts about 7 hours, so I take 2 doses per day . I tried taking 1/16tsp before, it still works but lasts about 4 hours. So, is it better to take 3 doses at 1/16tsp? Or 2 doses at 1/8 tsp?
Thank you so much for replying! That's kind of where I've ended up just by trying various doses over the past week, but I had no clue if I was anywhere near 100 mg per dose. 1/16 teaspoon didn't seem like quite enough, and 1/8 definitely lasted longer, but I couldn't tell if it was too much. I think tomorrow I'll try a rounded 1/16 teaspoon.
My neurologist had prescribed Sinemet three times a day, but I never took it more than twice a day for the two months that I was on it. Twice a day seemed like plenty most of the time because I generally feel much more relaxed and comfortable in the evening anyway.
Neither sinemet nor mucuna really help my tremor much, but they both help with the rigidity, bradykinesia, and dystonia in my left hand and arm.
I take the mucuna with 1/4 carbidopa 25mg pill so its. 6.25mg twice a day. works like a charm for tremors which is the worst symptom I deal with. I asked my MDS fo a prescription for it. I hope you find some relief! 🌸
