Dr Mischley says it's about the ph level, not the vitamin C. Check out her PD School chapter titled Dopamine Repletion Strategies where she talks about this idea in both the regular chapters and in the additional discussion that happened earlier this month. She recommends either lemon juice or abscorbic acid as in Emergen-C style vitamin C supplements (specifically, 500 mg or 1/2 a packet with each dose). She thinks vinegar could also work. Evidently the extra acid helps improve absorption of C/L as most PWP tend to be low on stomach acid. Also, grapefruit and orange juice are not at the appropriate ph levels. Does anyone have any other published reference on this topic?
