I have been researching Mucuna and came across several interesting articles that I thought I would share. I do not take it yet, but want to start. My neuro doesn't want me to, she wants me to start C/L. I would rather get something natural.
A note about the articles. A couple of times Zandopa is mentioned. I do not endose this product. For myself, I will probably go with whole beam Mucuna to start, along with green tea extract.
I've found lately that my 'on' time has been getting shorter and the wait for meds to kick in longer. It can take an hour and often more to get any benefit from the carbidopa/levodopa pills. Rather than getting a new prescription I've experimented with mucuna along with the levodopa. I take the Sinemet (generic) and wait 15 minutes for the drug to hit the bloodstream, then take a dose of Zandopa which kicks in quicker.
