Pureed Foods

I can use some help regarding how to decide which foods can be pureed the best and with what type of appliance. I have tried to puree with a small appliance as well as a blender/ food processor. I feel wasteful when foods don't get to the consistency to be eaten and swallowed well by my husband. Please give me some suggestions. Thank you.

A Nutribullet will purée a raw carrot easily although cooked is easier to digest.
