This was great- so glad they (PD Active) posted replay of the FB Live Event yesterday. Thx for sharing- a basic topic for all families experiencing PD.

Beware: this is Association data- these are things associated w slower progression.
Note: alcohol /wine 🍷 actually reduces restorative sleep- thus a negative impact when our brain needs to be focused on clearing the cache, or clutter. It’s also a toxicant. And a depressant. And addicting.
But yes, I love ❤️ a bit, myself!
Glad to hear that Beer is neutral, neither negative nor positive.
Very interesting and helpful. She is doing good work. My reservation relates to whether food types are a cause of faster progression or just an association. I believe the data is adjusted for income, but wealthy pwp are more likely to be eating more fish and veg and less canned food. They’re also more likely to have gym memberships, take regular vacations, have active social lives etc. So is it the food or their circumstances?
Also more likely to be taking probiotics so no wonder they have higher levels.
Frozen vegetables maybe people eat just corn and peas instead of a wide range. Canned foods have lots of sugar often. Maybe not washed before canning.
I would like to know if these foods are mainly from the US and possibly GMO. Would dairy from NZ cows be any better? US cheese is often very processed and totally different from natural cheeses, icecream and yogurt also with lots of sugar. Is plain Greek yoghurt from grass fed cows better than flavoured yoghurts that have no probiotics in them?
Today she mentioned these are adjusted for socioeconomic factors in her 2021 slides. And yes, it’s association data. She freely admits that. And can add hypothetical understanding for most if not all. Her pdonline class series is quite reasonable and totally worthwhile (practical and archived).
