Can anyone suggest a prescription drug compatible with most of our PD meds for sleep and anxiety that doesn't have ED as a side effect?

Trazodone was decent at handling sleep/anxiety for me, unfortunately it carried ED as a side effect.

I use Melatonin, have not noticed any issues.

10mg for intermittent use to sleep. Probably too strong for everyday unless very deficient.

Remeron works great for me. 15mg is the most sedating

I have used Valerian root for a sleep aid at times and not noticed that kind of problem

Thank you park_bear. I, too, take valerian. I was looking for something stronger that would handle sleep, anxiety, and mild depression.

Hi mgregor6:

I take Sertraline for anxiety, and this in turn has improved my sleep significantly.

I have been taking Cialis (tadalafil) for ED, and it is quite effective.

Appreciate it...

I got a prescription for Cialis. Went to pick it up. Price was 10 pills for $835.00 . Well now, isn't that special...I asked for the generic brand. Price for 10 pills was $525.00.

That is outrageous! I have insurance. It cost me only $6 for a 30 day supply...

Maybe because I have BPH which this drug is also approved for (on top of ED)...

Note this drug has an advantage over Viagra (sildenafil citrate) for ED, in that you can take it every day, and be always "at the ready", for when the mood arises!

Well that's my good old Medicare :( plan. Should have stuck with my employers group plan. Also yesterday I paid $300 for a 3 month supply for my PD meds (Stalevo).

Drug prices are ridiculous and so is my insurance plan’s prescription coverage. Try pricing through GoodRx. I got a 90 day supply of sildenifil (generic Viagra) for $40. Ps I am not affiliated with GoodRx......

I just found out about “NoctuRest”, a liquid herbal formula. Has anyone tried this? I just ordered it yesterday.

No. But please tell us your results good, bad, or indifferent.

We, so far, it gets me to sleep, but I don't remain asleep.

I can't blame Nocturest entirely. It is stressful now, living in the "Land of the free and the home of the brave." Our country might finally have begun pulling its head out of the sand.

It's too easy for my brain to start racing.

So my doctor prescribed a book for me to read, "Full Catastrophe Living"!

600 pages. I'm afraid it will be awhile before you receive my "Good, bad, or indifferent results.

Thank you for your response,

Just amazed at how well I slept last night. It may. be a reaction to depression as my Seahawks didn’t show up for their playoff game on Saturday.

I’m not saying that Nocturest is the miracle tincture, but it does seem to help. Most important for me is no crazy side effects if I have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

All the different prescription sleep meds I’ve tried have me walking into the walls. I don’t appreciate poor navigation, especially when I’m only half awake.

I’m not saying I’m walking like I don’t have Parkinson’s, but I haven’t hit any walls....

THC drops if you can get some medical marijuana if your state made it legal.

I am taking 25mg of Quetiapine at bed time - this works well for me. But it thankfully doesn't stop me from waking up if I have to go to the toilet in middle of night.

Was prescribed 2 per day but taking another in the morning made me a bit dopey during the day so I didn't continue with the second pill. I am pretty sensitive to medications so it may be that 2 would be appropriate for you.

Check it out!

Also I find if I have had an interesting day and been active like working on a project or walking, gardening etc. then I sleep better. No problem with ED!

My granny had a poem on her kitchen wall that read

"Don't grumble or grouse all over the house, or greet the missus by yawning, you'll find it worthwhile to give her a smile, when you get up in the morning!"

Wise words!

Hi Phero,

I just saw this post for the first time and absolutely have to congratulate your Granny for keeping the message alive! Made a copy of the poem. Awesome!

Congratulations on winning the America's Cup too. The general public have no idea how difficult it is to win and then defend
