Most people, or some may not like the answer to the question but is endomorphins! I used to run a lot and nothing soothed my nervounous or anxiety like some form of exercise. I first noticed this in high school playing football in 1966. I was a lot more calmer and at ease after football practice, also tired. If you look in the PD literature it mentons time after time the importance of exercise. I am sure there are lot of experts out there that will verify this. But that is not the only benefit of exercise, there are many! And I know we all past some of these exercises but find one that you can do?

It is in the line of exercise I guess, about a yea ago I stared doing woodworking, I needed to do something. Anyway I found having something constructive to do made a world of difference

. Just doing the finishing sanding was like a drug, or therapy. Time passed unbelievably fast, I felt so much better. I'm a different person now, I have something to look foward to and my wife has all kinds of cutting boards, some new cabinet doors, new wood counter top. Bestb of all is feeling like I can do something again. I think anything we can do to work our bodies and our brains will reduce the anxiety. I don't have tremors so woodworking isn't to dangerous, yet, but it has been real therapy for.me. no chemicals added. I don't know how long I can do it but i'm 61 now with luck who knows 10, 15, maybe 20 years. As long as I can anyway. Plus I sell somethings at alocal farmer's market, bringing in a little money doesn't hurt either.

Good luck good health

TRY St John wart or Nettle tea and dark Chocolate .

yours EXPORT .

An absorbing hobby will combat most stresses I used to love to walk miles but cannot now

I have taken to my old hobbies of woodwork and art and although at times it can be frustrating

it has a most calming effect

Get a hobby not drugs!

Try lavender oil it needs to be 100 % oil I use it on my Arms for cramps apply directly to the cramp but easy does it a little goes along way, because it is natural it does not bother my sinus or smell. Then I use Peppermint oil on my wrist for energy...it works for me now I think if you do a search for oil therapy that will help. Have the best day a parkie can have and then do it the next day also. Blessings KADIE57 (p.s I have slept thru the night for 1 week now since using this)

Try 5htp and here is an article that may help: naturalnews.com/035931_5-HT...

Plus don't forget that St. John's Wort is a MAO inhibitor and check that fact against the other drugs you are taking.

Hello Landry,

Take curcumin every day. It has been shown to increase both serotonin and dopamine neurotransmitter levels. This spice is a wonderful healing agent and will benefit you in so many ways. I suggest that you check with your neurologist first before taking it to ensure it is compatible with your Parkinson's medication.

I've used holy basil tea. It has other names, I can't recall right now. I'ts been used in India for ages. When I was hypervigilent after a number of family crises, I started having adrenaline rushes out of the blue. This tea really helped, but so so did a remedy from my homeopath.
