I decided I am going to give it a try.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Leticia,
Generally, LDN is taken at bedtime at a dose of 4.5 mg. There are reports of vivid dreams associated with it, but I never experienced those. Some doctors will have you work up slowly to 4.5 mg, but this varies depending on the doctor and or the individual. I went to 4.5 mg fairly quickly myself. Much quicker than the doctor recommended with no apparent problems, but I can see where going low and slow would likely be better to allow your body to adjust itself to the LDN gradually.

I take it in the morning with good effect though I’ve read its usual to take it at night but I dont know why if it disturbs your sleep. I take it for Hashimotos though x
I tried it for a couple of months. It was very helpful with my depression since the first day taken. After a couple of months I had to quit because I started to have a strong off periods with unpleasant symptoms each time my PD meds (the sinemet ) was wearing off. I think it’s because naltrexone is a reduced milligrams version of a medication used to treat and detox people from drug addiction and Sinemet (although not officially a narcotic) has the same effect ( like a narcotic) in us PWP. Anyway I think it was not making much with the PD for the purpose I was prescribed to.
I’ve been taking 4.5mg for years before bed with no bad effects.
I take it before bed.
My husband and I both take LDN. I take 3 mg for autoimmune thyroid. 4.5 was too high for me and I started having episodes of hypothyroid. About 6 years ago a Neuro diagnosed him with Parkinson’s. I watched all the testing. He took park meds for a year. About 3 months in I asked the Neuro if he could try LDN. She didn’t know anything much about it and said she would look into it - came back and said she didn’t find any reason it could hurt him so go ahead. Started out slow (both of us did). 1 mg at night for a week, then increase to 2 mg next week til he got to 4.5. For him the only side effect he noticed was he went right to sleep after taking it. No dreams. After about 9 months he had no more parki symptoms. Went back to Neuro and she said she could no longer diagnose him with park. Went to another Neuro and he said he did not find any park symptoms. A year later went to Mayo Clinic for other reasons s but asked to check him for Parkinson’s. They found no evidence. It’s been 6 years now since starting LDN. No problems.
Me - I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep and had to take it just before I dropped off to sleep or I would we wide awake for the next four hours,
Then I could sleep and have vivid dreams, but nothing bad. Been taking for
About 15 years. A few years ago I did some reading about people who had the same sleep problems and they began taking it in the morning - so I decided to switch to morning dosing. It’s all fine. BTW, it only took about 2 days for it to work on peripheral neuropathy pain in my feet that was related to cipro reaction (not diabetic), which is another reason I started taking it.
Would recommend you read everything you can find before starting and keep reading as you go. There used to be a Yahoo site like this one on LDN. It has Since retired, but I think Skip Lentz, a pharmacist with MG, posted all his
Old posts. I haven’t searched for it
yet, however. He gave great information so try to find it.
Also be aware that it interferes with any opiates and they won’t work - so there things you need to do before any surgeries. Also, no alcohol - could cause projectile vomiting. Just read every thing you can. It might work - might not. Worth a shot I believe. Good luck and I hope you have great success.
Hello Dinolulu. 2 years have now passed since your post. Is your husband still UNdiagnosed from Parkinson's as a result of LDN? If so, that's amazing, especially since he was diagnosed with Parkinson's before he started taking LDN. Is it possible that I have misunderstood? It sounds almost too good to be true. Thanks!
I forgot to mention that I have always gotten it from a compounding pharmacy. I started with 1 mg size til I arrived at final dose. Need Rx. So much easier and consistent than dissolving 50 mg tablet etc. I pay about one dollar a pill I think In the US I don’t think any insurance covers it. They might cover the 50 mg pill if you are an alcoholic or drug addict - but then that goes in your medical record!
Most docs have never heard of LDN !! Find one that has. Just ask your local compounding pharmacy which docs prescribe it.
