felixned,

Thank you for posting this!

There are quite a few forum members who have been waiting on actual human FMT as opposed to animal FMT so this is huge and very promising now that they have actually reported human results, and great results I might add! This study sounds like it may put FMT closer to FUS and DBS and possibly better!

Art,

There are those of us who are very sensitive to the food we consume and there are those who are not. I happened to be in the first group: animal protein predictably puts me in the off state typically within 2-3 hours after I eat it. I am curious if some of this sensitivity would disappear after resetting gut microbiom?

Felix,

I used to have problems digesting protein and two things worked to eliminate that issue for me, a good digestive enzyme or hydrochloric acid in the form of Betaine HCI hydrochloric acid with pepsin. Here are links to the products I used :

amazon.com/NOW-Super-Enzyme...

swansonvitamins.com/swanson...

To me the enzymes were smoother at doing the job, but the Betaine HCI was effective also.

Art,

I would like to clarify few things:

1. You used to have OFF periods that were likely precipitated by consuming animal protein (in my case eating 8 oz steak results in 2-3 hours of misery typically 2-3 hours after the meal)

2. You used Betaine HCl and / or Now SuperEnzyme (What was the dosage, was it taken with the meal or at a particular time, do you still take it or you stopped???)

3. Would it be fair to say that now you can eat meat, eggs, diary products and not experience OFF symptoms?

If this is the case it is indeed huge. Please share details if possible. If you prefer you can reply in a private message.

Thanks, Felix

Hi Felix,

1. I do not have PD, so I can not speak about off periods.

2. The Now Super Enzymes I took at label dosing. The betaine I took at varying dosing depending on the size of the meal because I was attempting to retrain my body to produce more hydrochloric acid on its own.

3. I can eat anything I want without issue, but again, I can not speak to off time. Protein seems to be the one that works against levodopa products efficacy and generally requires staggering of protein intake away from the time of taking levodopa.
