We have an inversion table we ordered and never took out of the box. I thought about it today, and then I wondered... Could this table help get more blood to my brain?

I bought an inversion table. Next thing you know I am having surgery to resolve an inguinal hernia.
Thanks Roy. Good to provide clarity (or to get me to provide clarity). I am more thinking of using the ball to do the inversion, like in the PDF I linked to. Hanging upside down does not sound like a really good idea to me.

Roy,Hope you are hanging in....I have what I believe is an abdominal strain (beginning of a hernia?) from pushing too hard in the bathroom. It has sidelined me from 🏀. How did you get your hernia and was it an easy surgery?

Just my experience, I used an inversion table for many years for my back. Starting before I developed Parkinson's symptoms and ending when I had a spinal stenosis related laminectomy diskectomy with fusion surgery. However, I think it helped delay my need for surgery a bit.The type of blood that increases in your head when you're upside down is deoxygenated venous blood, not oxygen rich arterial blood. So, going by that logic, it would actually be worse for you. To increase arterial blood flow to the brain , exercise is the number one method. Also supplements like Ginko Biloba and Rosemary tea decrease capillary permeability, pushing nutrient rich blood further. Smoking is a big no no. Sleep apnea is also have a silent killer in this regard so make sure you get that ruled out . This is why married people live longer (or maybe it just seems longer!)

Great advice about the type of blood my friend! I take 30 mg Vinpocetine twice a day to increase the blood flow to my brain. (I need to evaluate how I got my dosages).

Just to phrase it another way , you're not increasing arterial blood flow to the head , you are DECREASING venous blood RETURN, FROM the head. At least in theory.
I wonder can you se it to tilt the other way so your head is raised. I think I have read other posts saying raising the head of your bed while you sleep is beneficial.
This makes sense for my theory that poor drainage from the glymphatic system makes the rubbish removal system from cells back up with waste deposits piling up.
an inversion table can put stress on your knees but if you elevate your feet for half an hour a day it is helpful for your feet and legs- I was told that laying on the floor and putting your feet on a chair could be helpful livehealthy.chron.com/inver...
I've got a version called The Back Revolution. It's sort of an upside-down chair. Hanging takes stress off my lower back. I've had it for 40 years.
