Adaptive clothing

Is PD interfering with wearing -- and getting in and out of -- your usual and preferred clothing? To what extent? And what kinds of solutions have you discovered?

My nemesis these days is teeny tiny buttons!

There are some companies that make magnetic buttons that you can replace with the small buttons (silverts.com/parkinsons-clo.... You can insert these yourselves, though i think you’d have to do a bit of searching on amazon. Magnets aren’t compatible with cardiac pacemakers, though.

Sure, if you have a pacemaker, I should think.

Oh well yeah. Might check with cardiologist before going for it. But otherwise it’s pretty handy

I get the medical uniforms with the snaps. I haven't found short sleeved ones so today I cut the sleeves on one and rolled them up. You can get new ones ut I get them at the thrift store, Now if I could find easy to pull on pants that fit decently!

My O/H has lace-up trainers that also have a discrete zip and I would really like some (with zips not with the gold glitter!).

Absolutely! This is one of the big problems for my husband. He no longer changes into night wear due to the difficulty, he just sleeps in his day wear. Also I buy his pullover shirts a little larger and he no longer has any button up shirts. All his shirts have V neck for comfort. Most days he wears pull on activewear pants.
