Talk to me about adaptive equipment

I'd love to know how little purchases on amazon has made some tasks easier for you.

But I am also in AWE of how many of you spend long hours on the computer. This is my dad's computer station and while he doesnt use it often, he can sit there for several hours. I want to get him an office chair but wheels are not appropriate for him. What do you guys use to make computer use and everyday tasks better, easier.

Take care

Simona

I’d recommend moving the rug so he can slide the chair more easily.

We have one of those plastic mats that grip to the floor surface.

I agree about removing ALL rugs. They are a tripping hazard.

Hi Simona, I found the following link, which lists various assistive and adaptive devices for PwP: steadiwear.com/blogs/essent... If you scroll down, you'll see a section called "Assistive Aids for Using Technology." This page also lists all kinds of other assistive/adaptive products and their suppliers. I ordered a few collared shirts for my dad that have velcro instead of buttons (but look like they have buttons), from Buck & Buck. Have heard excellent things about a glove called Readi-Steadi (the company that published this page), which is said to reduce/eliminate tremor in the hand ... one lady was so happy she could apply makeup again. It looks like it can be covered by Medicare in the U.S. if you submit documentation to qualify for it. readi-steadi.com/ All the best, Kathy
