This study in question used cell culture and MPTP mouse models of Parkinson's.

Favorable results under these conditions are commonplace and do not demonstrate it will improve actual Parkinson's. I did some further searching and did not find any clinical trials of cinnamon. I did find a case report of someone who got improved on time from cinnamon and honey:

Not exactly stat sig but it does provide guidance if others want to try it:
" Cinnamon and Honey Dose
The subject was advised to take ¼ tea spoon of powdered cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of honey (combination) twice a day for eight weeks along with oral anti parkinson medications and home physiotherapy management.
Results:
Changes in “ On - time & Off - time ” duration At the end of the first week of cinnamon + honey therapy , the subject reported improvement in general feeling and better “on - time ” . The subject also reported a reduction in off - time along with increased On - time for more than 2 hour s . Furthermore, the subject demonstrated a significant reduction in off - time and increased on - time for three hours in the four weeks. The subject was further assessed for on - time and off - time at the end of eight weeks and found the on - time was improved for three and a half hours. "
No clinical trials may be due to the fact that Cinnamon / Honey / both cannot be patented... Who will invest in a trial which will not give any returns??
Indeed so - that has been the problem with getting a proper trial for high-dose thiamine. That said, a small trial for non-patentable NAC was done for Parkinson's.
That is not the problem getting a trial for HDT. The issue is the need-to-find-the-right-dose aspect.

I could play the role of a Guinea pig as I usually do :), just wonder which Cinnamon brand would be suitable..??
Just recently bought some organic Ceylon cinnamon which my husband adds to his morning porridge plus honey - maybe will give the above dose twice a day to see if any difference is noticed.
Ceylon cinnamon is supposed to be the best
Looking for information about how much cinnamon is an overdose:
"Generally, cinnamon taken as a diet supplement is used in small doses -- in some cases, less than 1 gram a day. "

"The tolerable daily intake for coumarin is 0.05 mg per pound (0.1 mg per kg) of body weight." Because of possible liver damage, taking NAC ,and ALA might help.

"The recommended dose of cinnamon is 2-6g daily for 6 weeks, followed by 1 week of no cinnamon consumption. Ingesting more cinnamon than this can put you at risk for several adverse side effects of cinnamon, including:"

I believe the advantage of ceylon cinnamon is that it contains very little coumarin so essentially eliminates the risk to the liver.
Correct. Ceylon Cinnamon is rolled up and brittle, Cassia looks like flat tree bark
There are more forms of cinnamon than these two: eg.
"A number of species are often sold as cinnamon:[28]
Cinnamomum cassia (cassia or Chinese cinnamon, the most common commercial type)
C. burmannii (Korintje, Padang cassia, or Indonesian cinnamon)
C. loureiroi (Saigon cinnamon, Vietnamese cassia, or Vietnamese cinnamon)
C. verum (Sri Lanka cinnamon, Ceylon cinnamon or Cinnamomum zeylanicum)
C. citriodorum (Malabar cinnamon)"

After reading here about someone's off time improving with 1/4 tsp cinnamon taken with 1/2 tsp honey, I read up on and decided to try this. I am using organic Ceylon cinnamon which does not contain coumarin. From what I can gather, coumarin is what causes issues/side effects from cinnamon.
I just read some of the other links and noted it helps IBS as well, which I was diagnosed with in my twenties and flares up now and again. I have also gone back on gluten-free diet. I was gluten-free for 9 or 10 months a few years ago, slipped off on vacation, and have had a difficult time getting back on the gluten-free track.
I do feel better this past week since starting on both. Less intestinal discomfort; not sure about off-times yet. These last few weeks I have had a rough time regulating meds, so made some minor dose/timing changes there too.
I don't take blood thinners or have any heart or liver issues. The cinnamon vogue site says up to 1.2 tsp for six weeks on, one week off, or 5 days on, 2 days off is safe. I am only taking 1/2 tsp a day, so I think I am good.
I came across this pre-publication entry in PubMed today:
Reduction of Lewy Body Pathology by Oral Cinnamon

I think this may have more relevance to MSA than PD (even though the mouse model was a PD mouse model), for reasons alluded to in these notes:
