My dad has a lot of trouble in the morning, getting up, taking his meds...
He is currently on 1 sinemet and 2.5 barlowe's 40% extract.
We are wondering about crushing his sinemet and emptying the barlowe capsules and mixing them all up into lemon water the night before so that in the morning all he has to do is shake the concoction up a bit and drink it.
Does anyone do this sort of thing or has any experience with it? Wondering if it will be effective or not... thanks for any insight!

Hi pdkid: You can do that (google "liquid sinemet"), but should probably refrigerate the mixture, and be forewarned, it will shorten the half-life of the levodopa, which means it will be effective for a shorter period of time... (note, it also will take effect quicker, which makes it useful as a "rescue dose")... FYI, I only have experience doing this with prescribed c/l (and not with "Barlowe's Extract", but I guess it will probably work)... And I don't see this as being an easier to take, unless your dad has difficulty swallowing pills...
