Parkinson or PSP

My nuerologidt is aggressively treating.me with Parkinson instead of previously doagonosed by another neurologist as suffering feom PSP. Obviously I have got no choice except to go with new Neurologist. Symptos are the same.

What are your symptoms? There is a PSP community here on HU. If you join it, you will find a lot of good information. Hope your neurologist is wrong about your PSP diagnosis.

My son was DX with PD....three years later re-Dx with PSP. My son died at the age of barely 55.

At the beginning, all neurological symptoms of brain diseases seem/appear to overlap.

YouTube JIM BOWER of the Mayo clinic, MAKING A DIAGNOISIS OF PSP, CBD, OR MSA. It is excellent. It runs about 41 minutes and worth every minute. It explains a great deal.

Frankly, there is no known cause or cure for PSP (the brain produces TAU not ALPHA-SYNUCLEIN), and I'd rather believe a DX of PD....at least there is hope of many years ahead. In PSP only the symptoms are treated as they appear, and as YET there is no known way to slow the progression. Two recent clinical trials (BIOGEN and ABBVIE) ended abruptly because of no positive results.
