I'm 72, Vietnam veteran and recently diagnosed with Parkinson.

My neurologist just started me on Simmer 100/25. I completed 1/2 tab 3 times a day no problems. Yesterday, I started taking the whole tablet 3 times a day. By evening I started vomiting and had severe stomach cramps. Naturally, I was concerned. I messaged my neurologist and asked if I could remain taking 1/2 tablet. He gave his ok. Since I want to control my symptoms correctly in accordance to the drug dosage, is there a way for me to take the complete tablet and not feel nauseous? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Too much levodopa as in sinemet would cause nausea. This is mainly because the body is not used yet to the big amount. I did at first take small doses and incremented very very slowly.

Managing Nausea caused by Levodopa/Sinemet

A graham or soda cracker along with ginger tea may help and are low in protein so should not interfere with the absorption of Sinemet®. If you cannot tolerate carbidopa/levodopa because of nausea, upset stomach, you may need to take it with food.

Do you feel like you need to take the full tablet if you were doing fine on the half? Maybe stay longer on the half to get used to it and only increase if you feel you need it. My Husband only takes the half dose 3 x per day and 1/4 at night. Don’t take more than you feel like you need. Only you can tell.

If you do need more maybe add another 1/4 tablet, then the full one in a few weeks if you think you need it.

German medicine can help you heal. The root cause of Parkinson's disease is the inhibition of movement-related action, which is accompanied by fear. This needs to be emotionally identified and resolved, then everything will be back to normal. we will be healed.

Really German Medicine , wow Germans are so smart

thank you very much

All I need to do is control my emotions , (which is exactly what I am doing right now)

We are all going to be healed you say

I hope you get Parkinsons and then you can try your cure yourself . woops control must have slipped there.

Some people have already recovered from this disease with this method, I am recovering from diabetes now, I was able to reduce my insulin from 50 units to 15 units, this would not work with academic medicine. - nézz szét a honlapjukon - learninggnm.com/home.html?f...

It took me months before I could tolerate a full dose of sinemet. I would continue at small doses until your body gets used to the meds

I think you will build a tolerance level - 1/2 a tab 3qd may bot be enough to level the Dopamine availability

I take a half tablet 6 times a day. A whole one makes my symptoms worse. A half works great

You may need to eat something beforehand or get a timed released tablet so it spreads out the dosage over several hours. Ondansetron HCL 4 mg is good for nausea by prescription. Hang in there you can have Parkinson’s, don’t let it have you!

I had same issue. I got tested for H-pylori, was positive and was treated. Then my nausea went away and my absorption improved resulting in symptom relief.

I take Rytary. I don't remember the dosages but in the past year the dose has been increased three times. I never had gastric issues. I assume that's because of starting with a low dose and stepping up gradually.
