It comes with a scoop. The description says one scoop is 3000 mg. The website also says the powder is up to 25% l-dopa, or 750 mg per scoop. if I use a more conservative figure of 600 mg per scoop, and the neurologist said to start with 50 mg of levodopa, that would mean I would start with 1/12th of a scoop. Yet, the description on the package says the daily dose is 1 to 3 scoops. Huge discrepancy. Suggestions?

I use this Samsara powder. My effective dose is 1/4 teaspoon, which I estimate to be just over 100mg L-dopa equivalent. “Up to 25%” may be a bit of a stretch. To me it acts more like around 15%. I actually like the stuff. It works pretty well. You’ll need to experiment to see what works best for you. To achieve the equivalent of 1/2 C/L 25/100 you could try 1/8 tsp and see how that works. I take it with green tea in the morning and with a shot of grapefruit juice in the evening to aid absorption. Good luck and hope this helps.
Thank you. A perfect response. 1/8 teaspoon is exactly what I have been trying for the past two days. Not sure if I am feeling any effects from it yet. When you say your dose is 1/4 teaspoon, is that the amount you take total in one day, or do you take that amount twice per day?
I take Mucuna approximately every 6 hours, away from food. That is, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. I intermittent fast so I’m usually eating only 2 meals per day. I mostly need l-dopa at night to help with sleep, and in the mornings when I get up. During the day when I’m active I often skip doses. I'm 2 1/2 years past diagnosis, tremor predominant. Good luck and hope this helps. - JG
I take 500 mg 99% mucuna 3 times a day, very little tremor or other symptoms. My Dr increases the dosage until my symptoms reduce. I am 3 years out from diagnosis. Good pull test, arm swing, energy. I also take many other supplements and used glutathione so my levels are normal now. No side effects, no drugs.
Good evening, of the 500 mg of the 99% pure macuna, I am assuming this is the extract form? And, what does 500 mg = to in measurements, in teaspoons? thank you
My husband went with mucuna, which is all natural and causes no side effects. Look at Dr. John Gray's journey. He has the formula he started with. Have you tried vitamin B1? I wish we knew about it years ago.
That's what we started with. We experimented starting off with a very low dose. My husband was diagnosed in 2014. He has only used mucuna. He was a zero on his pull test, and tests very low on the PD scale.
Good evening - how much mucuna does your husband take, and what kind? My husband was recently diagnosed, and we ordered the mucuna extract and also the Barlowe's. Currently, taking the Barlowe's with decaf green tea extract, and also B1 and magnesium combination. thank you
Hello & thank you for your reply. Do you take the Barlowe’s capsules or powder? We’ve just been taking the capsules these last 6 weeks [were new to all of this] but would like to switch to the powder. Is that what you are using?
We take the capsules. He tried the powder and we probably didn't have the right scale to measure it, but he became nauseous. We have purchased a scale that seems more sensitive that we have used for B1. We have a lot of powder we purchased, so we may give that another try.
I forgot to state that we followed the Marty Hinz protocal. I adjusted it according to his need. The doctors we have seen say to continue what we are doing. After all this time, he is still considered stage 1.
