In the West the term yoga has come to refer to hatha yoga - various forms of stretching. Yoga is good for ameliorating those tight places we are prone to with Parkinson's. I have no reason to think that one particular style is better than any other. The routine that I do includes various traditional poses plus a side stretch I made up.
Not sure, just looking into it myself, some places gave boxing specifically for PD patients. At this point anyYoga would be helpful, also Tai Chi. I will check.
If you are interested in Tai Chi you might also want to consider Qigong. My story here:
I take a yoga class 4-5 times a week. At my gym, various forms are offered, depending on the teacher. One does flow, moving to the breath, another Kripola style, more traditional poses, another Hatha, focus on form. I find them all beneficial. Yoga develops strength, flexibility, balance. I have more upper body strength than I’ve ever had before and muscles get stretched, always a good thing. My balance is decent when I focus in yoga. I lose it at times throughout my day, but yoga has made me aware of my body and I generally rebalance and self-correct, i.e., prevent falls.
