Thanks my friend 🤗🤗🤗

I felt a weight drop from my shoulder on joining this group. And this post and others with links to current research is a major contributor to my relief.

"a larger double blind, randomised clinical study is now underway in Augusta. Approximately 80 participants will be randomly and blindly treated with either 250mg niacin or a placebo drug for 6 months"

estimated completion date: this month (30 Sept 2019)

Thank you, iqbaliqbal. This is interesting. As an aside, I thought I'd mention that, in an online series about depression, one of the speakers claimed that Niacin is an effective way to counter depression. He recommended the flush-free version. I have had ongoing depression since my husband's death and recently started taking niacin, but nothing like the substantial doses he mentioned. (Can't remember his suggested dose.) Even at a low level of supplementation, it is helping. A friend refers to it as my 'happy pill'!

Flush free is NOT niacin and does NOT serve the same function. Flush free niacin is INOSITOL HEXANIACINATE

There's a trial running on niacin (as nicotinic acid) for PD in the US by the Veteran's Administration -

C'mon, Gio, where are you? This is one of your favorite vitamins, so I know you must have something to add to this thread!!!

One problem I can see with a randomized double blind placebo controlled study is what about the flushing associated with niacin? How do you compensate for that feature?
