I, for myself, get dyskinesias that immediately recedes when I go back to the previous dose.

This is my experience exactly.

Thanks for replying. His tremors are amped up. Does that sound like it?

That sounds like it could possibly be under medicated. You could try having him take a little more and see if it helps. Dyskinesia is different from tremors.

Thanks for your input. Gives me something to think about. He isn’t good at giving me feedback, so I often have to go on my observation. We are now going through a big change with a move. So maybe, this additional tremors are related to all that is going on. His sleep is horrible! This is not a good time. Kind of grasping at straws to help him.😳

Stress has such a negative affect on us it could possibly be making his meds less efficient. When that happens to me I always take more than usual.

Good advice. Yes, very stressful time, for sure! I will keep working at it with him.

Imo, a very important review and hypothesis.

The Parkinson’s disease death rate: carbidopa and vitamin B6.

Same here, when I'm stressed, my skin feels like its crawling, I become very uncomfortable, shaky and can't stay still a very very annoying feeling.

Sometimes I will take an additional dose of c/l, usually an extra 50 to100mg dose calms me down. Speaking of doses, my last one of the day is about 7pm then I have to wait for 12 hrs to take the next dose, this causes severe cramps in my left foot and sometimes my right when I first get up in the morning, I have to literally bunch the bottom of my foot to get the muscles to release, lot of fun.. 8(

Did you ask your doctor about extended release C/L for nighttime?

Mjm012 profile image
Mjm012 in reply toPDGal4

Yes. Doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Yes I did ask my Doc about extened release c/l, but she wants to get my levodopa dosage down and started me on the Requip instead which is suppose to help the receptors in the brain produce dopamine, in the end, we're all fkin lab rats!

Thanks for the reply

Mjm012 Just a thought: Stress — even good stress — causes my tremors to increase dramatically. My hands/arms are practically flapping. When I am at home with no emotional or physical stimulation, my tremors are barely noticeable. I take a fairly low dose of med.: 1.5 C/L 25/100 4X daily.

Good to know. “Flapping” is a pretty accurate description. We are def under stress with a life changing move. So I guess my poor guy will be dealing with this for a few more months😱. He is also always exhausted because he can’t get comfortable enough to sleep laying down in bed. He catches sporadic naps in his chair all day and all night long. That is stressful too! Thanks you sharing your experience !

My neurologist recommended melatonin to help with sleep. If he’s not sleeping well he has no hope of handling extra stress.

I hear you Milady,

You just described my exact reactions to stress, good or bad.

Would u please describe your dyskinesia? Want to know if this is what my Mom is experiencing. Thanks.

There are many dyskinetic movements but mine was my head turning right and left, as if I was reading a text without turning my eyes.

Didn't get any dyskinesia. Too much C/L made me lethargic and sedated. My days consisted of sitting in a chair and staring into space. Compared to that, give me undertreatment any day.
