over medicated: Hello...I meet a guy a... - Cure Parkinson's
over medicated
I take 50/200 slow release carbidopa/levadopa when I wake.
12.5/50 ordinary release when I go to bed to help with stiffness.
taken this for 2 years now solved my balance issues
Ropinerole was my onset therapy ,take 6mg sometimes 7mg 3x per day, tremor handwriting stiffness, gone or normal.
sickness and sleepiness occasional problems, probably more due to the way i live my life, cant blame meds always.
I like the combination therapy works well for me.
Breaking your pill isnt a good idea.
Sounds like you need less and he needs more,The symptoms of overdose and underdose are the same.Safer to reduce your med s in the first instance to see wether your overdosed, your falling and in danger of injury ring your neuro and ask, dont wait for your appointment.
Take care ,good luck.
So you only take it twice aday...2 25/100 in the am and 1 12.5/50 at bedtime
My husband takes 1 carba/leva 25/100 4X a day, 1 selegiline 5 mg once a day and 50 mg of zoloft. His Movement Disorder Specilaist says he is under medicated. Hubby will take and extra 1/2 pill when he feels his meds wearing off too soon. Everyone is different. Have you ever had a second opinion?
I take 1 Azilect a day, Carbidopa 25mg/Levodopa 100 mg 3 times a day,
Requip xl 4mg 1 a day and at bedtime 1 Carbidopa 50/Levodopa 200 cr tabs
I KNOW U R IN LALA LAND..REQUIP....IT REALLY SCREWED ME UP SEE IF U CAN GET OFF IT...I WAS TAKEN AZILECT BUT WAS 2 COSTLY AND IT DID NUTTIN
U SHOULD BE JUST FINE WITH THE CARBIDOPA...ASKED YOUR DR
Thanks for the advice. I seen my doctor on May 2
I take sinemet 25/100 4 times a day plus 1/2 sinemet CR 25/100 twice a day IF NEEDED. I try not to take the latter unless I really need it because it gives me dyskinesia (wild waving and kicking). I've been on the former on and off for approx 6 years (had it 10 years dx 8 yrs).
Oh its so confusing what works for one does not for another, we must keep communicating though and learn from each other. take care
Hi I have a DBS also take 8 madopar 125 . Two patches Ritgotine 8mgin 24 hours .plus
yours EXPORT.
....i take 3 tablets 4 times a day same here.
I don't have a tremor also and have small handwriting. I fall over quite a bit and have broken my arm in two places also my nose. I was taking 3 madopar tablets a day and 2 amantadine tablets but when I went to see the neurologist last week he told me to gradually come off the tablets as I might not need them.
I've been told that I have PAGF(pure akinesia gate freezing). I'm slowly coming off the tablets so I'm hoping my falls get less.
sounds like we r in the same boat...well i sick and tired cant take it no more all iam is a burden...cant drive...shoot i cant get a ride...more to it just tired later people.. God BLESSS

HOW U DOING?
I'm doing ok thanks. I came off the madopar but felt worse so neurologist suggested I doubled up on the amount I was taking. I took double for 6 weeks but felt worse and no difference with walking, sticking etc. So I'm back on 3 a day. I'm going back on reprinerole to see if that works as it helped when I was first diagnosed. Will let you know the outcome eventually. I'm fed up with the sticking just want to get my life back!
My husband has had Parkinson's for 8 years. He takes 2 carbolevodopa 10/100 every morning along with 2 carbolevodopa 50/200. Then he takes 1 of each 3 times a day. He takes Ropinerole and Amatadine, along with Seroquel. His memory has worsened and I am wondering if he is overmedicated. His neurologist just upped his Seroquel again. He falls a lot and has some hallucinations after waking up from napping. Just wondering if anyone has any input on this...
I got switched to Azlect 1mg only once a day if I had to take that many I would forget
