Easy, quick, simple home test of Parkinson's. Take test now, keep record of score, test your brother next three or four months, compare score. This in addition to Doc Costantini 's suggestion and request that a video be taken now of sitting, tremor, and walking. This for comparison over following months.
why does one have to take Vit D (that you can get from the sun right) and folate(isnt that for pregnant women? Did Dr D ask you to do that? He didnt with me .
I will go to your profile and look for "top five".
Which vit, D1, D2, D3?
I think vi t needs calcium.

D-3. I don't have a top five listed......my profile is minimal and I have not updated.
1. Thiamine
2. Vitamin D-3
3. Topical and oral magnesium
4. NAC
5. Pine Bark Extract or Melatonin depending on the individual. If constipation is an issue, then probably melatonin. If sensitive to melatonin, then PBE. EGCG could also be in the top 5! Now brand makes a pine bark extract that has EGCG in it so that would make a nice number 5!
Regarding calcium, yes it works well with vitamin D, magnesium, vitamin K-2 and boron. They are cofactors, but senior men likely get enough calcium from food intake. Women may need to supplement, but smaller doses of calcium at more frequent intervals are more useful than many of the high quantity supplements that give more calcium at once, which the body does not handle well.

…daily supplementation with 1200 IU vitamin D3 for 12 mo significantly prevented the deterioration of PD….academic.oup.com/ajcn/artic.... as measured with the HY stage, UPDRS part II and total, and some domains of the PDQ39, with no apparent increase in risk of hypercalcemia or other adverse events during the study period. A point estimate of the number needed to treat was 6 patients for no worsening or improvement in the HY stage, which was considered very effective. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first randomized trial to examine the effects of vitamin D3 in patients with PD. However, a meta-analysis showed that supplemental vitamin D for older adults who participated in randomized controlled trials consistently showed beneficial muscle effects on strength and balance (27). Therefore, it cannot be distinguished whether vitamin D supplementation specifically delays the progression of PD or whether it just nonspecifically improves muscle strength and balance in older adults.

That was quite a study, don't you think! Vitamin D has so many health benefits and studies to back it , that it makes a lot of health sense to be replete!
