McGuff Compunding Pharmacy in Santa Anna CA just informed me that they no longer compound Thiamine HCL for injection. Anyone know of a good source? The Compounder outside Chicago is a possibility but not confirmed as yet.
Thanks - John G

I got my husband's at CVS in Missouri. Check with your local CVS, they might be able to fill the prescription. Good luck!
How do you get the prescription? My general dr. nor PD dr. know about HDT.
My family doc prescribed, no problem. He described it as very low risk
Walgreen's in Illinois
Consider the Vitacost HCL 500mg tablets $30/mo for about 3,000 mg/d. The pills 💊 aren’t that hard to swallow (standard size).
I was wondering why they (McGuff) no longer compound it, interesting. . . Originally, I filled the prescription there (thanks to Julie) as I couldn't fill it in my southern state. Later I decided they were too expensive and sought other pharmacies that could fill the prescription. I had my very close relative check in Missouri, and the CVS pharmacy there said they would fill the prescription. They did for a fraction of the McGuff price!
Update: after couple hours of calling around I found 2 pharmacies that compound sterile Thiamine: The Compounder in Aurora, IL, and Fireside in Palm Desert, CA. I'm waiting for a price from Fireside.
Pls keep updating- @Reedboat2 so have u tried oral tablets before this?
I tried Swanson 500mg some time ago. They irritated my gut, so I switched to powder from Bulk Supplements. I’m fine with oral doses up to 250mg, but it’s difficult to get enough in at that dose. That’s when I started injections, that was Dec 2018. McGuff was a reliable and inexpensive source, selling 30ml vials, but a couple months ago they stopped compounding Thiamine, supposedly because of new FDA rules. For a while I went to the standard commercially available 2ml vials @ $11.50 each from Walgreens. Then about a month ago McGuff called me and said they were back in the Thiamine biz, selling 10ml vials @ $17.50 each. McGuff is in Santa Ana CA. If you’re looking for a source in the Midwest try The Compounder, in Aurora, IL, outside Chicago. For me injections are the way to go. Good luck, A-L. Let me know how it works out.
