If you are struggling with depression and apathy watch these interviews. Your problem may be a nutritional deficiency. These are the supplements which have helped my husband more than any other he has tried including the pharmaceuticals. They are surely worth a trial for a couple of months?

If B1 hasn’t given you the results you hoped for perhaps you are missing other essential nutrients as well. My husband takes extra B1 with this and their product specialists have said it is fine to take extra B1 and some of the other vitamins with it, just no extra minerals.

“At Trinergy Center for Integrative Psychiatry, Dr. Tummala works with patients to treat mental health problems using a holistic, or whole body, approach.

Rather than just addressing the symptoms of mental illness, Dr. Tummala uses a broad scope of intervention, including diet, exercise, meditation, nutritional supplements such as Hardy's Daily Essential Nutrients, psychotherapy, and careful use of psychiatric medicines. She recognizes that reducing the reliance on psychiatric medicines reduces the severity and occurrence of side effects while empowering her patients to find balance.

Dr. Tummala first heard of DEN from Dr. Scott Shannon, renowned author and integrative psychiatrist who has found success using these micronutrients with children who have ADHD and psychosis. Dr. Tummala shares that most of her patients notice differences in their mental health symptoms within three to four weeks of consistently taking Daily Essential Nutrients. She has found it to be useful for patients with autism, schizophrenia, depression, psychosis and bipolar disorder. She notices improvements in apathy and motivation in patients taking DEN, and has had a couple of patients who started taking DEN and discontinued after a time, only to have their symptoms reappear.

Dr. Tummala has authored and presented on the topics of mental illness, Ayurveda, and integrative approaches to mental illness to academic audiences both in the United States and abroad. Dr. Tummala was a resident psychiatrist for the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals, and then a Fellow in Geriatric Psychiatry for the same organization.

She received her MD in Psychiatry in 2003 from the Deemed University, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, India. She was recognized for excellence and was the recipient of three awards during her undergraduate medical education at the Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences in Bellary, India.”

I agree that micronutrients might be the missing link in our diet since soil has been depleted by commercial farming, however my concern is that Daily Essential Nutrients contain nickel as part of the proprietary blend and so far I have not heard anything good about nickel but just the opposite myersdetox.com/nickel-toxic...

Not sure if it's good to have an extra source of exposure as nickel appears to be already in a number of foods and in mercury amalgam dental fillings.

I would be also concerned about mineral wax as I am not sure about its toxicity - don't remember ever seen it in other supplements.

Hi, I will ask them about this. I know we do need some nickel. It doesn’t say how much is in it. Just a trace.

Ask about mineral wax too, as it's probably a petroleum by-product.

Ok, will do. Although the source if pure doesn’t really matter if the compound is safe. They say they will get back to me tomorrow.

Here is their response:

“The amount of Nickel is very small. Less than 0.003mg per capsule.”

This is 3 micrograms per capsule so 12 capsules is 36 micrograms per day and the daily requirement is much higher.

mineravita.com/eng/nickel_r...

“The recommended daily amounts of nickel are not fixed, but it is suggested that it is enough to intake about 100 micrograms per day. However, some studies show that it can be consumed daily about 200-750 micrograms of nickel.”

They say “ the mineral wax is a naturally occurring waxy substance that contains a lot of minerals. It is commonly used in doses much higher than ours in Ayurvedic medicines. If you want a full list you can email service@hardynutritionals.com.”

I will email them to get the full list!
