Hey guys. I would like to have any recommendations may work to you all having similar disgusting episodes. It hurts my self esteem and erodes my strength. I have been with PD over 12 years now and I am able to deal with most symptoms like tremors, dystonia, stiffness, rigidity, muscle pain, hallucination, depression you name it..... but getting stuck while crossing on a door, in a hall, in a sidewalk and most terrible when happens in a public place.... is devastating. I'm right now on Sinemet and mucuna that's it. In the past I was on Mirapex, artane, ropirinole, neuropatch, amantadine, selegiline and few others but I had to quit because my general health got worst with side effects more than the PD. These episodes have increased and been frequent in the past two years. I exercise 7 days a week, gym, walk 1/2 hour a day on week days and 1 hour on weekends plus ride bicycle few miles. Eat most clean as possible (natural and organic preferred) and a lot of supplements except B-1 HCL I have tried several times different dose and get my symptoms worse really that's not to me. By the way.....this is an awesome parkys group....I get use to read the posts and get updated each morning while walking.....Regards......
Looking for relief on shuffling and freez... - Cure Parkinson's
Looking for relief on shuffling and freezing during off periods. These symptoms are driving me nuts....
Did you try B1 thiamine HCL?
Maybe you can try to reintroduce B1 HDT - see that forum under same name or @royprops @easilly
Safinamide?
Hi marnegro. You may find this hard to believe but it is as true as today is Friday. You can overcome your freezing by first of all RELAXING. Then consciously place all your weight on one leg and then lift the other leg up off the ground and stepping forward.
If you want to know how to overcome many of your Pd symptoms then look at my website reverseparkinsons.net and contact me. I will send you all the information on how to walk properly; how to overcome freezing and how to possibly get better as I have. It dd not cost me anything and I will pass it on to you at the same price.
Pay close attention to timing of your food consumption and not only the amount and content. Try to eat vegetarian and do it as close to the half time of your sinemet doses.
I used to have those freezing episodes, with a little shuffling. The neurologist upped my Sinemet, and I don't have much in the way of off periods now. I've had PD about 10/12 years now. One freezing episode was so bad, that I face planted in the middle of the street, while walking my dog! I ended up with a concussion, bad contusion, blunt force head trauma, blood running down my forehead from it, and two black eyes. I do range of motion exercises each day, and stretching. I haven't had a freezing episode for about four years now. It was really tough dealing with them, and I hope they don't return.
