Has anyone in the UK tried to send off their Mucuna for testing, to see actual dosage of L-dopa contained therein?
This is one of the reasons consultants give for not being able to advise about Mucuna... I know that the companies selling the mucuna give an indication of how much L-dopa is in it, but apparently this can change from batch to batch. And apparently can go down depending on conditions that the powder has been kept in.
Always appreciate any advice about this. Thank you!

My husband's nutritionist has recommended he take mucuna and told us to buy DopaBoost. Each pill has:
425gm Mucuna pruriens,
5mg Vit B6,
750mg N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine
100mg green tea extract
100mg Quercetin
She is very insistent that buying any supplements are good quality otherwise you risk low levels of the active ingredients.
My husband was diagnosed a few months ago, but think he has had PD for a while as evidenced by persistent constipation over several years, and a low level but gradually increasing tremour in his left hand. He is not on any meds. We are on a journey and have found everyone's suggestions on here really supportive and helpful.
Personally, I don't get the point about MP. I'd rather know exactly what I'm taking, including a DOPA decarboxylase inhibitor as in Sinemet or Madopar.
