What experience do people have with Curcumin? Which version do you use and at what dosage? Thanks!
Curcumin: What experience do people have... - Cure Parkinson's
Curcumin
Curcumina it is an antioxidant that according to various studies is proving effective in preventing the aggregation of a protein (alfasinuclein) involved in Parkinson's disease. I've been using it for a few days one per day, Curcumina Redox of Solgar. I am finding benefit with Mannitol an Vinpocetine.
If you are interested in curcumin you should take it together with bioperine (black pepper extract). Or get a version of curcumin that is formulated with it. Bioperine increases the absorption of curcumin.
Note some gene defects mean you might not be suited to curcumin. My hubby did a DNA test and curcumin is on the list of things to avoid.
Hi he got a 23andme and an ancestry one and I ran a few free programs on the data. One said with a defect in RS 6323 ++ in the MAO-O gene to avoid curcumin . ( I printed it out but it doesn’t have the program name on it so I can’t remember which one it was). A lower expression of MAO-O means he breaks down neurotransmitters more slowly leading to mood swings and depression. Associated with catecholeamines, methyl trapping, antidepressant response risk. ( from an OPUS report).
Read an animal study where the in vitro data with curcumin looked great, but the in vivo was poor. They didn't say what brand of curcumin they used. Meriva made by an Italian pharma company is absorbed well and bonded to phospholipids. Also a brand where they have the curcumin "caged" in cyclodextrins. I think it is called cavacurcumax. They would be my choices based on the science and their companies reputation. The latter is from Germany. BOth are available in USA.
What is curcumin? What does it do?
Curcumin is turmeric . It stops inflammation in the body . It helps in many diseases caused by the inflammation .
I have the powdered spice kind to cook with. How would I take it? Thanks, I appreciate your answer.
The search function is your friend. Here are two posts with a great deal more information. Theracurmin is vastly superior in terms of bioavailability and has human clinical evidence of it's efficacy in diminishing protein aggregation in the brain.
