Wow. This sure is interesting. Vinpocetine Is available over-the-counter:

"A drug called Vinpocetine (a phosphodiesterase 1 inhibitor) was the only phosphodiesterase inhibitor that reduced alpha synuclein toxicity. Vinpocetine is a synthetic alkaloid derived from the periwinkle plant. It is synthesised from a molecule called ‘vincamine‘.

The researchers validated Vinpocetine in cell culture conditions and found the neuroprotection was mediated by an increase of cGMP. They also found that Vinpocetine could rescued dopamine neurons in mice with very high levels of alpha synuclein.

Eighty-nine Parkinson’s disease patients and 42 healthy controls were recruited for this study. All patients were randomly assigned to either the traditional therapy group (T PD group, n= 46) or the vinpocetine group (V PD group,n=43),in a blinded manner. Both treatments were administered for 14 days.

Results

...vinpocetine produced a robust increase in the Mini Mental State Examination score, compared to that achieved by using levodopa therapy."

Treatment was via IV: "Vinpocetine (20 mg) in saline solution (250 ml, 0.9%) was administered daily to patients in the V PD group."

There was no change in UPDRS. MMSE is used to test for cognitive impairment:

Shall I rush to buy it? Every research and study comes up with different discoveries, and we buy what they suggest helps symptoms of PD. . . the supplements are piling up!!

I’ve been using Vinpocetine for almost 2 weeks and feel it’s taken my intermittent mild tremor to an almost zero tremor.

Increases in neuronal levels of DOPAC, a metabolic breakdown product of dopamine, have been shown to occur in striatal isolated nerve endings as a result of exposure to vinpocetine which may upregulate dopamine receptors.[18] Such an effect is consistent with the biogenic pharmacology of reserpine, a structural relative of vinpocetine.[18] However, this effect tends to be reversible upon cessation of vinpocetine administration, with full remission typically occurring within 3–4 weeks.

Vinpocetine has been reported to have cerebral blood-flow enhancing and neuroprotective effects.

Could enhanced blood flow to the brain be the answer for minimizing, reducing and removing tremor?

Yes I am, and my gait has improved but I recently added Kratom so difficult to be sure what’s caused the improvement. I also use B1 and Mucuna. That’s pretty much it.

Don't know why it hasn't been used before by someone. We should give it a try as its over-the-counter supplement with no side effects
